I'm pretty sure the Hi-Point still has a lifetime warranty. About 20 years ago I bought a used 995 and I sent it into Hi-Point. They inspected it, replaced the worn parts and sent it back. All I had to pay was shipping. IMHO, that's a darn good warranty!

I would say they’re not for the gun *snobs, not connoisseurs. Most people who say they “hate” them 1) have never shot one, and 2) are narcissists who have to show off their high-dollar “designer” guns to everybody anywhere they go, and look down their noses at anyone who doesn’t have an equally-expensive range toy. I have an expensive handgun that is more accurate than the JHP45, but if it isn’t surgically clean it is not reliable. It also is extremely picky about ammo. Knowing that, I would NOT trust it for self defense. I CAN and DO trust the JHP45 for *home* defense. I love it, but it’s a bit heavy for EDC. But if it was all I had, I’d find a way to carry it.

During a time we both were loading mags I asked him about the Hi Point, he liked it a lot, pointed good and was fairly accurate. He said it was his bedside gun, and I remarked that using an inexpensive pistol for home defense was a good idea especially since, if he had to use it, it won't break the bank if it is confiscated by the police. He told me that's his plan, and he knows all too well about the pistol being taken by the police since he was a Deputy Sheriff in my town! ...

Because of your first video review of this weapon, I went out and bought the same one and I have to admit that I love the damn thing. I paid $36 for it... The shipping cost more then the weapon! Hell, the spare mags cost more then the weapon. The other reason I bought it in .45 is due to my dad passing away and he left me a spam can of Russian .45 acp ammo and I didn't own a gun that fired it. Problem solved! The gun became my yard weapons cache gun after I had a home intruder gain access to my home after Hurricane Ian and I was not able to get to the room where I store my weapons. Remember folks, It's a tool that was designed to solve a problem. No one cares what a hammer looks like, just as long as it get's the job done.

I think they are great truck guns, boat guns, or anywhere you need a reliable gun , but don’t what to use an expensive one to rust or get beaten up. My wife actually prefers the 9mm C9 to more expensive handguns we own. She keeps it in the nightstand on her side of the bed. If a hi point is all you can afford so be it .pretty isn't what makes the 'oil light ' come on in bad guys . What ever caliber you have , you are Armed .And that , means you have a chance to protect your family .

Got a story about the hi-point carbine. Several yrs ago, here in NYC, a convenience store owner( an immigrant, by the way) went through all the legal rigarmarole to get a long gun license & bought a hi-point carbine to defend his frequently robbed store. He found that he could not buy ammo for it, as it takes pistol ammo, which you can't buy without a pistol license. But he kept it in his store anyway as a deterrent. When, inevitably, he was robbed again, he pulled the carbine on the robber, who went to his knees & begged for his life(I've seen the CCTV video). The store owner thereupon forced the robber to convert to Islam on the spot(Also on video). Then he called the cops, who arrested the robber, who later affirmed his conversion to Islam. The cops didn't like this at all, so the next day some narcs showed up at the store & questioned the man about the little glass pipes he had in the window. They asked "are these for smoking marijauana?". He said "no, they are tobacco-only pipes". The cop persisted & asked " can you smoke marijuana with these pipes? The store owner replied "buy it, then you can smoke anything you want in it." Thereupon the store was shut down & the owner charged with selling "drug paraphrenalia".

Great video! Thanks for using the ProMag clip. Have three Hi-Points; 9mm, 45ACP, and 10mm. Somewhat bulky but very dependable, reasonably priced, and just simply love them!

Good gun from a great and honest brand. Everyone pisses on Hi Point because they make "big clunky ugly cheap shooters". What i see is that Hi Point sells simple, reliable, sturdy, precise and affordable tools, with an unbeatable warranty. They shoot well and straight for cheap, anything else is a matter of taste and snobbism.

I had the Hi-Point 9mm carbine and loved its accuracy. In fact it was probably one of my most accurate carbines. And yes it was reliable as well. The only reason I got rid of it was because of the lack of options to put accessories that could be put on it.

I love watching your honest reviews of guns sir, i happen to also own a 45 high point myself and it hasnt given me any problems. Even if it looks ugly and its bulky a lot of people dont like the basic features on the gun. Its primary function to shoot well and cycle well regardless of the grain of the ammunition used for this particular platform pistol. I still shoot my 45 high point every time i head out to the out door gun range. ❤❤

I owned a Hi-Point CF380 for several years. I had to tweak the magazine that came with it but once I did it shot first time, and every time. I bought a second extended magazine and never had a problem with it. Through hundreds of rounds it was perfectly reliable. Hi-point is heavy and homely, but if you're on a limited budget they're a very good option for self defense and target practice. They sure beat the hell out of a sharp stick, lol.

The warranty is the best part honestly they are some damn tough little guns but it don't matter if your the 1st or 100th owner if the serial numbers are still intact just send it in to them they'll replace anything you managed to break up to the entire gun no questions asked if you own it they'll keep replacing it

I bought the hi-point .45 carbine and it is an amazing bit of fun. I put a reflex sight and muzzle on it and, especially for the money, nothing can touch it for reliability and accuracy. I heard the pistols had reliability issues but am glad to see this refutes that. Great company.

Aside from the dark realities we face there is another probably larger reason for affordable pieces. Shooting is fun! We do most of the activity with firearms as recreation totally non violent totally stress relief etc. That Zinc Blob is not for me but it is a VERY suitable range piece. Off topic but Pump and Lever Guns are underrated when it comes to SD and Rec shooting. I have .22's that practically blaze if you practice. Lots of fun. Thanks for the show.

Thanks for the honest review mixup. I appreciate what you said about the trigger. I have shot weapons with all kinds of triggers and never let that keep me from purchasing one provided it's reliable and shoots all kinds of different ammo (and reloads), I'm in!!. Alos, that's for the heads up on the ProMag magazine's on the 9MM . Question: is that just for the pistol? or does that include the Highpoint carbine as well (because you mentioned "firearms")? Again, excellent review. Howdy from far North Central Texas!

Great vid Mix! Starts with a beam in AND a Mix rock throw! I bought a HP 9mm compact about a year ago for $90 (probably after watching your vid...), and no, it's not something I would chose to use for defense.....but I could. Has never jammed and hits where I point it. They are truly interesting.

My C9 goes bang every time, and the one f2f was on the 2nd mag through it when I had it fully loaded. I backed off to 7 rounds per mag for about a 100 rounds, and now it runs flawlessly loaded all the way. Now I just need to get the carbine to go with it, or get the 45 carbine to go with the Taurus that my mother-in-law gave me after her husband died.

You have a great channel! Down to earth reviews and just overall good content for us common folk! That being said, this was a good video for a firearm brand that a lot of people hate, lol. Wouldn't mind seeing you shoot the Hi-Point .45 next to a Colt 1911. You were pretty accurate with this chonker :P

I did a video years ago where I compared a Sig pistol to a Ruger pistol and some viewers criticized me for "comparing apples to oranges" and being unfair to Ruger. I can only imagine the comments if I compare a Colt to a Hi Point. Still, it would be an interesting comparison and I just might do it just for the fun of it, although I'm pretty sure the Colt would win 👍😎

never had issue with 9mm carbine 995, my only issues were constant jams using the 3 hi-point 9mm manufacture magazines in my hi-point 9mm pistol. As I bought the gun and then 2 additional mags directly from Hi-Point.
