You're doing something wrong. Just got mine, had one bar at -120db, 256k download. Installed kit, getting 20mb down.

While that is possible I tried various ways and these were the best results I could get. I think location plays a role in this, I’m glad it worked out well for you.

@@landpet oscillation and minimizing it is also key. I think location does play SOME kind of role however. If you're nearest cell tower is 50 miles away, I'm not sure how much good this would do for you.

The instructions should have told you to tape over the outdoor coax connection. It is NOT watertight in the long term.

Your downloads aren’t likely improving because the problem is not only the signal strength but the tower site is likely congested. Congestion is when so many users are connected to the same site at once and that connection gets shared between all those devices. It becomes slow and unusable with too many users. The download is almost always the first thing to get congested on a connection as it’s used much more than upload generally for mobile data.

Thanks for your hard work and great reviews.Have you done a review on backup power for your router and modem. All the reviews talk about backup for computers and networks.I just want backup power for my Wi-Fi and how long the backup power will last in hours. Thanks again.

No problem! I’m not currently using backup power specifically for those but I am preparing for that. I got these jackery batteries with their solar panels and those should last quite a while depending on the version you get. There are cheaper alternatives as well like the APC units which is another good idea. I will be doing a review on those jackery batteries in the future.
