The 1275 from the Allegro will fit straight in, but the final drive is 3.7-1 if I remember correctly. So you’ll need to consider this.

Love your Videos, I used to rally a Mini in the seventies and thought I was pretty expert in all things Mini, now I know how little I knew! anyway, I am re building a 92 mini at the moment mostly bodywork and running gear. The engine hasn't turned over in three years however it had good oil pressure and sounded fine before it was rolled into my garage, thinking about your comments about running an engine in any thoughts on starting an engine that has been laid up for some time?

Generaly A series engines dont mind lying up much, look at project Gretel it was lying out side for 10 years we added some petrol and fresh oil and it fired right up amazingly. so all I wold say is, crank it with plugs out until you get oil pressure. then squirt a little oil in each bore ands crank a little more than it should be good to go.

Thanks for yet another great video. 👌🏻. Just on the subject of the rear anti roll bar, is there any type/brand in particular you would go for, or maybe more importantly, which ones would you avoid. To complement red dot cones, and Protech dampers, and running 12 inch wheels. Thanks.
