Repeating the name of Allah (doing dhikr of Allah) invites the glorious lights from the presence of Allah which are called salāwat-rahmeh (benediction-mercy) and salāwat-fazl (benediction-virtue)
29/Al-Ankabut - 45: Recite (read and explain to others) that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up the Prayer. Surely the Prayer keeps away from Al-Fahsh (to do what Allah prohibits) and Al-Munkar (to deny what Allah commands). And certainly the Remembrance (the repetition of the Name) of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do.
Dhikr has been mentioned in the Qur'an with 3 different features in terms of time:
1- Little dhikr, less than half of the day;
And remember (repeat) the Name of your Lord and reach Him by detaching yourself from everything.
2- Much dhikr, more than half of the day;
O you who believe (who are Amenû, who wish to reach Allah while they are living)! Remember (repeat the Name of) Allah with much remembrance (more than half of the day).
3- Continuous dhikr, doing dhikr of Allah for 24 hours;
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or lying (down) on your sides; but when you are in safety, keep up the prayer in congregation; surely the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours as an obligation.
