I recently learned that a 1ct diamond I inherited from my grandma is lab grown. When she passed away, my dad and uncle found this absolutely bananas diamond ring in her collection. It had a CLUSTER of 1ct diamonds on it, each colored. We were stunned and kind of confused. She had a big collection with many expensive pieces of jewelry but not anything as crazily, coco-for-cocoa-puffs fancy and rare as that. They decided to split the ring up into single-diamond necklaces for me, my stepsisters, and my cousins. I recently took mine in to a jeweler to learn more about it, at which point I learned that it was lab grown. That info put my grandma’s ring in a less than astronomical price range. It also made me impressed with my grandpa, who bought the for her in the 70’s or 80’s before lab grown diamonds were trendy. I’ll be proud it wear it some day as an engagement ring or to pass it on to the next person.

I just came across your videos and I love them! I definitely subscribed!! You were so correct. When you say that lab created diamonds are diamonds they’re just processed in a lab. I had a 1.5 carat lab created diamond and I let an uneducated jeweler tell me that it was fake and I was so upset that I went to my jeweler and unfortunately she couldn’t convince me otherwise and I traded it in for a mined diamond. I ended up paying more for a one carat, I do love my diamond I just wish people would get better educated on lab created diamonds because they are real diamonds.

Absolutely STUNNING!! Does the hidden halo (the rails of the sides of the halo) offer an added support to the stone, especially that the diamond is seated a little lower? I only ask because i noticed that with a stone of THIS caliber it's only secured with 4 prongs. Platinum or not, i would insist on 6 prongs on something over 1.25ct unless there were another way to insure the stone is secure. Again... ABSOLUTELY STUNNING 🥰

The right ear .50,hoop.25. Drives my son crazy he likes symmetry but it looks awesome. For his wedding I'm changing the left ear I have a small silver hoop with Moissinite then a pear shape dangle on a silver chain. I love this asymmetrical look... I very much watching these videos. I have a large pink sapphire that was my aunts, I will have 2 .02 pts diamonds left I want to make a ring using those 3 stones in rose gold. I am falling in love with marquis accent stones. 😍😍 As for lab created versus mined…I am rather torn. I have a deep feeling for stones that come from the earth itself, but I appreciate that lab created stones almost entirely circumvent the ethics of mining (for now, anyway…any industry can fall prey to unethical practices). I’d be curious to know your opinion on lab created colorless moissanite. Whether you like the heightened fire of it versus diamonds.
@zachemighjewelry
Жыл бұрын
I recommend diamonds over moissanite because of its higher hardness! Much better durability for rings 👍
@marissabulso6439
Жыл бұрын
@@zachemighjewelry I prefer the look of diamonds (I like the colorless sparkle over the rainbow sparkle), myself. Though I’ve never considered the durability. Since moissanite is something like a 9 on the Mohs scale, doesn’t that put it in the same camp as sapphires? Not as hard as diamonds, to be sure, but I’ve worn a 2 carat sapphire on my finger for almost 15 years without incident. Is moissanite more prone to chipping or something? Though now that lab created diamonds are so affordable, maybe it’s a moot point. 🤔🤔

The ring is beautiful but I'm concerned about the delicacy of the band. It's looks too thin...won't the band bend? Am I wrong or is the band sturdy enough to hold the stone? Please accept my apology if I'm wrong.

My diamond engagement ring and wedding rings were made in 1989. I don't think lab created diamonds existed then, did they? I've never seen anywhere, anything like the rings that I had for engagement and wedding. The side diamonds were on like a little bridge that came up to the main diamond. And the wedding ring also had this bridge technique for the diamonds that came up. I wish I knew how to explain it better than that. It was literally like a bridge. Have you ever seen any rings like that? I so miss my rings that I lost. My heart just breaks over it.
