Once known for pristine water bodies, villages around Curca are losing their identity. Centuries old spring developed and maintained by King Saundekar is in dire need of rejuvenation. Construction activities in nearby areas have worried locals as they fear destruction of heritage buildings and the spring once used by the king for bathing. Government should take necessary steps to preserve dynasty structures by giving them heritage status.
Gaulimaula locals also fear that ongoing development of plots in vicinity and construction in near future may dilute water bodies, thereby, affecting sources of water. They have decided to raise this issue during next gramsabha.
