That black fuel tank you passed in the beginning of the video literally to the left of it there is a old mine that goes down deep underground

I used to stay in Kellerman. I dated a few girls that lived there. I loved the people there. They were the type of people. If they didn't like you. You better stay out of Kellerman. There weren't that many people who lived there. Most worked in the mines. I went back years ago and couldn't find any of the old houses. When the mines closed because of the strike. Everyone moved away. There used to be a church that was turned into a school. But it was empty and run down. I was 16 and I have so many great memories there. BTW I wouldn't go camping there without a pistol or a rifle. There used to be panthers there. Thank you for going there. I can see everything has changed. It's good to see nature has grown back.

Wow! Just ran across this video. My father's & some of my mom's family are from there. My mom & dad lived in Kellerman when I was born. Kellerman has history. I could tell you stories that I heard my Parents, Aunt's and Uncle's talked about. My people showed us where the cemetery was. I could tell you about that cemetery too.

Never really thought anyone would make a video about Kellerman! The Black Church were over on the community. And yes the mining company did strip up that hill around the cemetery.

Another good/informative video. As for the GPS location, don't post it here on Y/T. Some people would find the cemetery and destroy what little is left. I noticed the hum in the background, I have heard it for many years. I have attributed it to a mining operation of some sort. Thanks for the video!

Contact the the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. have a dept. that takes on some places like this for their class to research, study, and restore. They did the cemetery where my 3xGreat grandfather is buried. It is worth a try ❗️

When I was a young girl in the 1950 s in West Virginia, my Dad and a group of 6 Musicians and singers traveled all over WV to the Mountain Churches to sing Gospel. It was different there as many black people came and would be welcomed, my Mom always made a point to sit and talk with these people. There was a small community near our house that was real nice and pretty where 2 or 3 races of people lived ( black, white and Spanish ) and got along great .They talked on each other's porches and shared things from their Gardens. These lovely people are all gone now, they were all friends even back then. People today could take a lesson from people back then , at least i.n some places.

@@MotoGiant Not precisely. You had a different one on motocamping and the topic of "stealth camping" (if that were possible with a motorcycle). I've been cycling and/or camping for years, but being in coastal NC puts me out of reach from a lot of state/federal land, so I decided to bridge that access gap with a motorcycle. Thrilling stuff, I know, but the idea of semi-self sufficiency and lightweight travel has me fascinated with the possibilities.

@@Ebbonified Well I may not be an expert on the topic, but I have been doing it successfully for a decade (except that ONE time - watch the "Busted" video) and I feel like I have had a pretty good learning experience. I would be interested in what you are searching for, if not just ideas?

@@MotoGiant I'm not entirely sure at this point. With this current cold/flu season upon us, I'd been eyeing motorbikes as a means of alternative transportation already. A favorite control technique among tyrants is the control of information, food supply, and free movement. Without roadway freedom, it means the 'mare's shanks' or something in between cars and.. well that. So my hobbies coalesced with the prospect of future necessity to get me looking into step-thru styled motorbikes like the Honda CT90 or better, the CT110. Unfortunately, the 'vintage' market is the only thing there for us at the moment.. and those are too expensive for what they are. Seeing the price of a refurbished CT110 at $4,500 - $5,000 is was quickly becoming a matter of stifling what reservations I had left in me to resist finally learning the world of full-sized motorcycles. I rounded that corner last week with my research completed and settled on an Enfield Himalayan. Pannier racks are on backorder and the engine guards are being shipped to me now. I know camping and hiking well. I know tour cycling well, too. Now to put an engine in the mix!

@@Ebbonified I have good things about the Himalayan, and it looks versatile (I like dual sports) If you have never ridden before I would suggest a parking lot to become an expert at controls, braking etc. I have a decent series on practice drills to become a decent rider quickly, you might want to check that out? kzitem.info/door/PL1xHmAZWsXoBxUpo3_DdbaoXcp8Q-bGjv

Normally I would agree, but these communities were strip-mined, going down hundreds of feet before the earth was returned, so not much left.

That cemetery were the only one for the black community. It was a lot of blacks that lived in the community in Kellerman. Kellerman were a mining town. My dad worked in the mind for over 50years. I wonder if anyone remember the old steam engine that ran on the track. My dad and others called it "The Shay Engine"!.
