There are hidden wonders in Patagonia, Quillén Lake in Lanín National Park is one of them 🏞.
Today we are going to enjoy this place, we leave early from San Martin de los Andes with a temperature of 2°C below zero, we take route 23 to the north, the road is beautiful, we pass by the Malleo River and a few kilometers and the wonderful Aluminé River begins to accompany us on our journey.
After passing the Rahue bridge we take Provincial Route 46 towards Lake Quillén, it is about 30km and the Quillén River accompanies us at all times. We cross different landscapes, where we see different places, where the Currumil Mapuche community stands out and also several ranches dedicated to cattle raising, hunting and sport fishing.
We access the Lanín National Park and finally we have to open a wire fence to access the lake area.
We look for a place to enjoy this spectacular sunny day where there are several icy sectors, we settle down and while the fire is lit we enjoy a coffee, then we prepare pork with vegetables to cook them in the plachetta.
We enjoy a tasty lunch and a beautiful afternoon, then we take a tour of the place and finally we visit Paula, Quillén's park ranger.
This winter without snow gives us the chance to visit and enjoy the hidden wonders of the province of Neuquén in our beloved Patagonia.
