But, I was wondering if we can ((Automatically)) hide some columns and rows based on specific cell value, for example, If A1=0 hide 2:2..... Thank You

Columns are harder. You can use the Conditional Formatting tool to make it look like it disappears. Otherwise you have to use VBA

Hello!Now that I have created the Macro, is there a way I can lock the sheet but still use the Macro?

+Renee Hinojosa Yes, you can protect the cells but make sure that you allow the user to use the AutoFilter

Is it also possible that when a row is black, it hides automaticly? So without needing to click any buttons. If(Row 3 is blank, hide, dont hide) something like this
@Advanced_Excel
7 жыл бұрын
I presume you mean blank in the first sentence. Not really unless you use VBA. Ideally at some point conditional formatting will allow you to change the height of a row but I don't think there is any way to do this without VBA. You can make the text disappear but you will still see the row.

How would you do it if you had 100 columns :)? Would I need to add a filter to each or could I do at all at once? I have 317 columns and a lot of them are zeros (also some of the rows) I could use a hit for that :D
@Advanced_Excel

For rows you can do as many as you want. Columns are different though. Either proper VBA or you would have to look at putting a helper row which says which column to hide and then record a macro that hides columns using find all our something like that.
@Advanced_Excel

Just rethinking what you asked and I think I misunderstood. If you had 100 columns and you wanted to hide any rows in which all 100 columns were zero, I would create a 101st column and build a COUNTIFS (you can see how on kzitem.info/news/bejne/2W5jumGuen57haw ) into it that counted how many zeros it sees in the row. If there are 100 columns and it counts 100 zeros, then it will show a 0 otherwise a 1. The macro will work normally from there.

AuditExcel Advanced Excel and Financial Model Training and Consulting So if I have more than one column of months, how can I hide the rows that have zero values in all of the 12 month columns?
@Advanced_Excel
9 жыл бұрын
Ayten Huseyin OK. You need to create a new column that checks whether all 12 months are empty. You can do this with an AND function e.g. AND(mth1=0, mth2=0.....). Depending what the contents is, perhaps do a SUM of the 12 months and if it adds up to 0 then they are blank.

You will need to use a little macro. We normally create a button that does the autofilter part but just before it unprotects the sheet and after it protects the sheet. However this does weaken your protection. Do you know how to record a macro?

Agreed. Would then suggest you go the full VBA route. If you want you can email info@AuditExcel.co.za to explain privately what you are working on and we can see if we can help.
