On April 15th, 2014, it was announced that Strasburg Railroad's ex-N&W 4-8-0 "M" Class steam locomotive #475, would be sporting LIRR G5 #39's 3 chime whistle (identical to a PRR 3 chime) for Easter Weekend. With this news, me and a couple of my good friends ventured out to Lancaster County on Saturday to hear the sound of the mighty Pennsy (LIRR) echo through the countryside. And we were not disappointed by any means, as the crew on this day was doing some awesome "hi-lo's" on the cord! We'll chase the train through everywhere from popular locations like Esbenshade Road and the East Strasburg station, to lesser known locations like Carpenter's Cemetery and Verdant View Farm. So enjoy the sounds of the LIRR from an era gone by in our latest segment, rightfully titled "Three Chimed Harmony". Special thanks to the Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of Long Island.
