Nice video! I've been running one of these for a while. I didn't add the heater to mine. Works ok that way, but I really like the heater idea, I'll have to pick one of those up!

Im making one of these this year, Im spending way too much time mixing in buckets or trash cans. I will substitute the gate valve for a one inch (or larger) ball valve to fill my containers

Have you found the need for a 3/4 hp sump or is the 1/2’still doing the job? Also did you find a good deal on the pvc or just shop at the box retailers? I have the drum now I just need to make the setup

1/2 still does job. PVC from big box stores.

Have you run into any problems with your pump tripping out on the thermal overload when mixing? I just built one using a "3/4hp" submersible from Amazon but can't even continously mix 1:1 syrup without the pump tripping off.

10 gals of water weighs almost 85lbs wouldnt you need much more sugar for a 2:1?

Walker Bee Ranch you are actually correct. I wasn’t focused on exact ratios in this video as I was on demonstrating the mixer and misspoke. Nice catch. ;-)

Edward Nice local reseller found on Facebook marketplace. Any size drum can be used. As long as it is clean and wasn’t used for any chemicals prior. This bin I bought was new never used.
