But some small towns are great and they look out for each other and others it's you have to watch your back. In our home association we look out for each other but because he ruined it for me I don't feel safe anymore by myself without being strapped. But if that was out of the equation id feel safe. Even with the 2 attempted break INS, we know it's not anyone in the association. It was actually a dud who was notorious for breaking in during storms. He was finally caught tho. It's just too cold for criminals to get out. I live in Québec and i had a homeless person come in my home this summer (just to get food, but it was still scary until i found out who it was... i even made a video about it on my channel where i was really wondering what was going on, if i was hallucinating moving things, etc... until i found the guy in my shed LOL) but in the winter, i feel safer because the sheer feet of snow and ice around the house serves as a barrier against anyone ever coming here.

I know it's scary to expierience that, but it is a little messed up to call a starving homeless person a criminal. Someone here not to call a starving person a criminal. Actually, what that starving person did was a crime. Homeless or not, it was a crime. Having said that, it is a shame that homeless people do not feel safe, welcome, helped, etc, in shelters during the winter month when they can die out on the street. Helping a homeless person to get out of homelessness is better than just feeding them or sheltering them. Teach them a skill, help get them by providing them with a box in a shelter so that they can apply for a jpb. Food, shelter, health insurance, and education should always be the priority for a nation. Thanks for helping the homeless person.

And if you look at crime rates across the world and specifically in the United States where crime rates are well tracked and most states experience very hot summer weather and very cold winter weather, you can see how crime ALWAYS goes up in summer and ALWAYS drastically goes down in winter. Because it's so cold outside most people aren't going out looking to commit crimes plus biologically people just have far less energy in the winter. There are also far less self endings in winter than in spring and summer. Summer is when people commit the most crimes and if you look at countries that are around the equator and warm year round they are the ones who have much higher crime rates year-round than places that have a winter or are colder year round.

Hi Cecilia! I had a few questions/curiosities I would love to see answered in a future video/videos! Firstly, I always think it's fascinating to see what local pharmacies are like in different countries. (Just to clarify, in the U.S. pharmacies not only dispense medications but also carry items like cosmetics, personal hygiene products, and a lot of other stuff). What items do they keep in stock on Svalbard? Do they do special orders if you need something specific from the mainland? How much do you need to plan ahead in order to make sure you have your regular medications when you need them? Kind of along the same line of thought, how many different stores are there in your village? Lastly-- and this is going to sound a bit cliche-- but what is your skincare routine? I live in the northern United States where it gets super dry and cold in the winter. I'm always struggling to keep my dry skin moisturized. How do you keep your skin protected against the harsh climate on Svalbard? Thanks in advance! I really enjoy learning about your life in Svalbard via your videos!

I was just in a small city of Unalaska in Alaska, which is on a very remote island in the Bering Sea and even despite having many transient fisheries workers, there is practically no crime there. Everyone basically knows each other. The police know all the troublemakers from their young age, and there’s really nowhere to hide or run.

I first started watching your KZitem during the pandemic. I was on Facebook when I saw a pop up for the most dangerous place in the world…so dangerous that you had to carry a gun when you walked out the door. It intrigued me so I clicked on it and you popped up. hahaha…I’ve been hooked since then.

I wish I could go back to living in a small town like that. I've had to abandon everything in my life several times and now I'm stuck in a major city with no way out beside homelessness.
