Recently I made a purchase of eight different high grade 1972 Topps hockey cards that will be used to add to and/or upgrade my PSA set registry set.
For some reason there seems to be a relative abundance of high grade 1972 Topps hockey cards around. PSA 10's are relatively more easy to get and their populations are relatively high compared to their counterparts in other sets I collect from 1969 through 1980.
Yet I don't ever recall seeing a lot of 1972 Topps hockey wax packs or boxes around. I'm not even sure I've ever seen a 1972 wax box before. So this makes me think that there were a large amount of 1972 Topps hockey vending boxes released to the hobby over the past decades.
This is just my suspicion. If any of you can provide further insight into why there seems to be an abundance of high grade 1972 Topps Hockey around, I'd love to hear it.
Also I'm new to documenting sports cards on my channel. I have a lot to share and I'm trying to work out the kinks to make better videos. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thanks.
Gary
