I understand your angle with the McD, but I would have to disagree though. You say "if you dont have food to pick from, then it would be good food". But you have though. On the other hand, I think you should also think about the other side of the spectrum of expectations. How people lower them with excuses like these. Take another example; "I did not do some chores today (lets say cleaning the house), but i should." Then I tell myself "My friend actually has a much dirtier place and I am not homeless, so my house is actually pretty good. It's a shelter, it's nice". Same with the McD argument. You could eat actual healthy food, but you lower your expectation to "It's edible", so it's a good choice. It's kind of a cop-out and a way to feel good about poor choices in my opinion. Good video, but I do belive we should focus on the other side of the spectrum. I think most people have too low expectations rather than too high. Anecdotally the people I have met that say "they have to high expectations of themself" usually have too low, but they uses is as an excuse to lower it even more.

I agree with you 100% that people tend to compare themselves with low people and then justify their actions because they have somebody worse to take as an example of bad. The story about McDonald's didn't quite connect with a ton of you, I should've picked something else. High-standards, no-expectations tends to work best for me as I saw that my mental state can really drop when I have high expectations of things that I can't control.

McDonalds is terrible food though lol ....... I watched a video the other month talking about a chemical in the fries ..... it was saying there's 100 times more of this chemical in the fries than in a packet of cigarettes. its super highly processed food, full of chemicals, don't forget about the guy that tried to eat nothing but McDonalds for a month and had to quit because he nearly died. you'd be better off buying a nice fat steak and cooking it at home with some chips and vegetables.

I agree with you, good food is cheaper to buy too. Again, depends on the angle. (It's good food if you don't have any food) It's just a burger once in a while so I'm willing to take the hit haha. What did you think about the video tho?
