@@myzerocarblife Thank you for this informative video Kelly. I switched to a high fat moderate protein recently after watching a vid interview with Dr Bright on eating more butter when I noticed the interviewer (Bella) skin looked amazing. This vid helps to stay on the high fat butter track. YES, I found that some of the biggest issues on carnviore was not eating enough calaries, having low energy and not sleeping thru the night. So butter at 800+ caleries per stick helps to eat a higher calarie count and is helping with energy/sleep issues too. Can you kindly make a video on what your plate looked like during your 5 months high fat 80/20. I want to let you know Kelly that you look like a College kid still SERIOSLY!!...you have a youthful glow, great skin and tons of energy plus are incredible in shape. You always remind me of a college football cheerleader. So dont feed your brian negative talk about gettting 'old'. I have a family member who is 88 1/2 running around acting like they are 30 lol....weight lifting, playing golf weekly, socializing with groups twice a week, etc etc. So age is LITERALLY a mindset. If you "think" you are old...well your going to act like you are old...it you "think" like you are youthful, you are going to be youthful when you are in your 80's. 😊🍗🥓🥩🧈🧈🧈 also, can you explain what kind of fat you buy at the store for 97 cents a pound? Do you ask for a specific type of fat (ie ribeye, pork or other type of beef/steak etc) or do they just give you want ever fat they have in stock. Thank you! Incredibly lucky. I am 58, I have 6 children and 9 grandchildren. I found a wonderful ob/gyn with my 2nd pregnancy and stayed with him through my 6th. Other than that I haven’t really liked drs. My kid’s 2nd pediatrician was wonderful and some of my grandchildren still go to her. I have struggled with weight since my mom put me in weight watchers at 10 years old. I’ve done almost every diet out there and had some success. In 2011 I went from 412+ to 312 then stalled and over the next few years got back up to 379. Have to say it’s the first time I didn’t gain all + more back. I hit menopause and suddenly my joints ached making exercise really hard. When I did exercise that I’d been able to do for years I had horrible muscle spasms. I tried Leto a few years ago but it messed with my digestion so I stopped. Then 3 months ago my hubby was diagnosed with pre diabetes and Ive been concentrating on low carb and between us we have lost 45lbs. It was coming off super slowly for me and Ive been really frustrated but discovered this carnivore diet. Yesterday was my first day and I already feel better but I’m nervous. I’m trying to get the rest of my household of 4 to come along with me for just 30 days and see how they feel. I would love to join a group.

I had visited an MD about thirty years ago. He said that if I wanted to lose weight to eat meat and low calorie vegetables at every meal. Low calorie probably meant low carb as well. Anyway, the doctor was severely overweight, couldn't sit with his legs together and hit belly hung between his knees. No shame, but I didn't believe him. If eating meat and vegies only at every meal was so easy, why couldn't he lose weight on it. It was at the height of high carb, low fat eating. I know better now that that way of eating works.

Just to be devil's advocate :- My grandparents and great grandparents lived well & long ( mid 80s to 90s) on a mixed diet of :- meat 1x a day any & all veggies available ate bread, potatoes 2x a day Milk & butter. had desserts quite often at dinner eg apple pie & custard. ate 3 x a day but no snacking. Active as little transport and no mod cons around the house. Laundry & house cleaning was hard work. No processed foods No ready made foods No fast foods Did not eat out Little alcohol No vitamin supplements My Point ? That we aren't able to be healthy on the above as my ancestors were to me means there is something else going on 1. They didn't have gluten intolerance. Why ? less processed flour No GM seeds Good soil with plenty of minerals. No toxins in the water or the soil. How is flour /gluten processed these days that is different to say 1940 or 1960 ? 2 They had sugar in their desserts & maybe their drinks too . Less refined. Perhaps processed completely differently to today. 3. That we are being poisoned by toxins which changes our metabolism and how we work or our food is changed to be unrecognised by our bodies in some way so that our foods have become toxins and now harm us - the food straight from the soil, not the processed foods. Conclusion :- More is going on than just over eating and eating junk food because when people go back to a diet my ancestors ate, they are still struggling.

I don't need any mysterious conspiracies. One word will explain it all: GREED. Big Agra cares not one spit about our health, they care about profit. To squeeze out every penny from food sales they need the UNSOLD FOOD TO LAST. Shelf life is supreme. Wheat is stripped of every nutrient so it doesn't go bad on the supermarket shelf, nor on yours two weeks after you buy it. Ever notice how Ezekiel bread goes bad in less than a week and needs freezing to keep at the store? but Orowheat lasts for weeeeeks out on your counter? We can talk about the soil being loaded with so many pesticides that the seeds have to be altered to tolerate them. Why? Because HUMANS don't like to buy ugly fruits and vegetables covered with bug trails. See above re: GREED for minimizing waste to bugs and small creatures. Wheat has been changed genetically. Just Google: "How Has Wheat Changed Over Time?" It pops right up. This should scare every single person in the U.S., if not the world. And this is just wheat. Sugar is just sugar, but where they used to use sugar, they now use high fructose corn syrup...the problems with that are encyclopedic! But it's cheap. Also, "costs" are another way of saying "Our dollar isn't worth crap." Because it can't buy what it used to and every corporation and small business is struggling to keep things "affordable" while also raising prices. This is NOT greed, this is slight-of-hand. We can't be $35 trillion in debt and not feel it. Each one of us is literally paying to keep things afloat. You just don't know it. This is not a conspiracy theory, this is economics. I'm going to leave it there. This is long enough. We are in deep, deep trouble. But hey, let's fight about Taylor Swift and eating pets. That'll keep most people too busy to notice what's really going on.

I eat BBBE mostly, and I have started putting butter in my coffee, sorry guys me and coffee are an item. 😏 and in the last 3 days, I have noticed some improvements. I dont do the calculation thing, I listen to my body, it tells me what it needs and wants, I started with the butter and my body said MORE. But, thats me, everyone do your reasearch and listen to competent people like this lady. There is one thing I have noticed in the carnivore community, joy. Kelly, I totally resonate with your story. I was vegan for 30 years and was plagued with severe health problems. I had heart problems with irregular heart beats. rashes on my legs, Sarcoidosis, constant pneumonia, a stroke in which I was dead for a little over a minute, I got a pacemaker, and the list goes on. I had never heard of carnivore before and definitely would not have considered it healthy. I did have one experience in which I had to eat just meat and eggs for 3 days to prepare for a heart pet scan and did feel better , but went back to my original vegan diet. I started to get people on my feed who were doing the carnivore diet including yourself and I began to get exposed watching their videos. I had a doctors appointment coming up and I wanted to prove the carnivore diet wrong, so I went carnivore (and not even strictly) for a little over 2 weeks. I was feeling better, able to walk up my stairs without having to stop and breathe and my EKG was the first normal EKG I have ever seen on myself. I cried all the way home which is 3 1/2 hours away. Since starting (which has been 5 months now) I have lost 10 pounds and feel amazing. Thank you for all that you do!!!

@@user-lo9cw6pq7j Well, that makes sense; your blood type needs a lot of beef and green leafy vegetables. You could NEVER be healthy on a vegan diet! Here is a copy of my comment from above on this video: I really think the type of diet, protein and foods that works best for each person has a lot to do with their blood type. Read Eat Right For Your Type by Dr. Peter D’Adamo. If beef works well for you, you’re likely blood type O. If someone has wheat issues, they are likely type O. If someone can’t handle dairy foods, then they are likely a blood type A or O. Seafood fanatics are often type B or AB. Type A should be vegan vegetarians. I’m an AB, which is rarer, so I need a lot of certain types of fish, like salmon etc, turkey, lamb, dairy and vegetables. D’Adamo breaks down which meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, grains, spices/herbs, beverages and condiments are either ‘to avoid’, ‘neutral’ or ‘beneficial’ for each blood type. This explains why some foods and diet types work better for some and not others. Please read his classic best selling book or on-line info for more details. And noooo, I have nothing to do with his book, vitamins for each blood type etc. I just know that his live blood cell research on how different food lectins react to different blood types holds true.

I was on standard carnivore for 8 months, and had massive healing and improvements. But then I took a detour onto low-carb keto when a friend convinced me that I was missing some nutrients, only to find that I'm a total carb addict and CANNOT say no to carbs. The carbs were going up and up, and were pushing out the meat more and more. My old symptoms returned and I felt worse and worse. Then I saw Kerry on his KZitem channel called HomeSteadHow, and was amazed at his results on Lion Diet (which is beef - or ungulate - and water and salt only), and decided to give it a try. It's been 2 weeks now and I feel SOOO much better! All the old symptoms went away and my energy has come up, and I feel great. But the weight hasn't come off yet - which I think is due to literally decades of following bad advice about eating very low or no fat, no red meat, no animal products, and tons of carbs. So now that I heard you, talk about high fat in this video, I'm going to incorporate a lot more fat into my diet. Which I think is perfect because I've been craving fat lately! And I've never, ever craved fat before!! I like to take the fat trimmings and dice them up into small bits and cook them on medium-low heat in their own tallow until they are fairly well-browned and far easier to eat than raw or only slightly-cooked fat. With a little salt sprinkled on them, they are absolutely delicious! Thanks, Kelly!!!

Anxiety is caused by metals and neurotoxins from pathogens (if it’s not due to recent trauma) and the reason it gets better with fat is that the body pushes out adrenaline whenever there‘s fats in the bloodstream to protect the heart and the brain. That adrenaline has a cooling effect though on the brain and neurons and gives short term relief for conditions that are metal related. Because there’s always fat in peoples diet nowadays there‘ll always be adrenaline around… until the adrenals are burnt out But of course, everyone has to fellow their own inner guidance and research. Just wanted to throw this out there…

I'm not carnivorous, but when I got the vegetable oils out of my diet and reversed the metabolic syndrome, my boils went away. When I resolved my metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, the boils happened less. When I ended the vegetable oils and used olive oil that was pure (not cut with vegetable oils) the boils ended. I cook with tallow and use olive oil for salad dressing.

I saw you in an interview earlier this year. I think you saved my life. I was convinced to go vegan and the last 7 years have been a health nightmare. But I never once thought my super healthy diet was the cause. On carnivore/keto hybrid now. The first 3 months were remarkable in change. I'm a middle-aged maled, was super healthy and fit at 50. 2 years of vegan caused arthritis, Lupus, Hashimoto's Disease and pre-diabetes. I look like I aged 10 years in 2! I wished I had found this news 7 years ago! Thanks to you and Ms. Peterson! You look gorgeous, btw!!

I didn't give up, though, because I it healed me of several serious issues, I was blown away by the healing!!!! Then, around the 4th month or so, I began losing weight all of a sudden and I have now lost a whopping 43 POUNDS!!! I am stunned! Never would have thought it possible! When I eat carbs, I mixed it with coconut vinegar. I'm on my third month now and I've lost 24 lbs without exercise. My sleep is better. I don't get food coma anymore. I have lots of energy. My mind is sharper, I don't get brain fog anymore especially in the morning. I used to have to drink coffee but now it's only because of habit and I guess, the taste of it. I listen to you, Laura Spath, Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Mindy. Thank you so much and have a happy new year! from the Philippines with love... Kelly, your conversations with Dr. Bright and Amber O, were a positive game changer for me. It’s been a little over a month but the results of my ketovore way of eating has been dramatic. Though I felt much better being on a high protein lower fat ratio compared to the standard vegan diet I’d been on (my body composition changed), I did not lose inches around my middle, struggled with sleep, and lifelong brain fog still. Also, I’m pretty sure that high protein meals only ignited my sugar cravings. Shifting about a month ago to high fat ketovore improved my sleep, has given me clarity and I’m no longer squeezing into my jeans. I’m also experiencing the carnivore calm everyone talks about and have been feeling an unassisted sense of peace ( I had to meditate or do yoga type things before to get there.) Thank you soooo much. I’ll see you in one of your groups. I can’t wait to learn more.

I am that 50+ woman (57) who went from traditional carnivore of 1.5lbs+ fatty meat to 2:1-3:1 ratio, stalled weight, mediocre blood work, insulin resistant, unstable blood pressure, low energy, extremely poor sleep for decades. With this macro change there have been some adjustments along the way, but I'm amazed how much my energy has soared, I also lost a few pounds, I've returned to the gym with gusto, I am a long time insomnia sufferer and that still plaques me, though there are some nights that are more restorative, clothes are fitting bette, my skin is improving and my moods are even more stable than they were with traditional carnivore. The only con for me at the moment seems to be decelerated hair loss. I had experimented with just higher protein but then my blood glucose goes quite higher. So not sure what to do with that. Keep up what you're doing, I've really enjoyed your videos, your Insta stories, your willingness to educate and experiment with yourself, and equally as important as a teacher, your flexibility and advocacy for everyone.

I, too, was one of those women over the age of 50 (59) that came to carnivore and found that I wasn't losing the weight that I wanted. I have Hashimoto's and thought that this was the reason but when I started a high-fat version of the carnivore diet, I dropped 10 pounds in 5 months. For those of you that think that this is not a lot: I'm only 5'1" and started at 135. I looked chunky but not fat, fat. I finally stepped on a scale this past week and found I was 123. I knew that I had lost weight because I actually changed my pants and shirt sizes to small, so there was no real desire to check my weight as I knew my body was changing. In fact, my body has changed more than the scale reading would indicate and I know that I really don't have to step on a scale to monitor my eating. I don't even measure my fat-to-protein ratio, I just dump on fat in the form of beef tallow or butter/ghee and my body knows when I've had enough food.

Soopa cool that you provided this feedback. I am having similar results/experiences eating this way.

You thoroughly described me during your video Kelly - over 50 (I'm 65) carnivore for 3 years - gaining weight and fasting glucose going up through time. I've upped my fat for the last 3 months and reduced the amount of protein at each meal, but not sure about my macros as I've never tracked them. I signed up for your Jan. coaching. to finally sort things out. I also need to exercise more - hopefully that gear will click into place, too. Thank you for all you do.

Dr Atkins said ALL there is to know about fats, proteins and carbs DECADES ago, too bad this dietary genius who literally had to fight for his right to speak the truth is being forgotten. What was called "Atkins" is now replaced with "keto".

Thanks Kelly you’ve given me food for thought ! I’m 66 and went on BBB&E for three months and lost 47 pounds and I think I will be going back on that for good cuz I felt better and had better results ! I started eating choc zero and that was a mistake and gained weight cuz I can’t just eat one piece ! Lol But at least I know now that I can’t have that in my life either ! I think upping the fat and lowering the protein maybe something I need to try ! Thanks again

Your experience and experiment is SO helpful to me. I've been keto carnivore for years and still 20 lbs overweight. I've never given up sweetners. I'm going to try higher fat no sweetners and less dairy after Christmas. Thank you!!! So sorry you got so sick with COVID. Your consistency is so impressive.

After Christmas that’s great, good luck! I am going to try the higher fat as well. I still use stevia in my coffee twice a day. Tough to let go.

@@meansswing Yes I think I'm actually going to start with HF now and I'm totally addicted to the sweetener and HWC in my coffee. I've decided there's a few days I won't be LCHF over the holiday but it seems better to start now. I'm pretty HF anyway I I think I need to lower the protein and get away from the HWC

@@amycreagh3108 Yes I am the same hard to get rid of heavy whip, but this week I am going to try not to in my coffee and just go with butter and stevia. I lost all the weight I needed pretty quickly with carnivore, now I am just doing for the various autoimmune problems I have good luck.

Thank you for your list of Cons to high fat. Every time I try high fat (over 2:1 fat:protein) I feel sick, and stop. Hearing that it took you 3 weeks to adjust really will make a difference to me. Now all I need is to find a butcher shop where I can get beef trimmings and other sources of fat beyond butter.

A THOUGHT, ...about high fat.. and possibly not enough protein..??.. Most of the nutrients the body needs to function and to heal and repair come from the protein;..such as essential amino acids, iron, zinc and B vitamins, iodine and omega 3, vitamin D and minerals.. It's also my understanding that fat mostly helps with hormone production..AND.. the proper metabolism of the fat soluble vitamins A,D,E,& K; that all need fat to be properly metabolized.. We seem to need both.. in adequate amounts.. We just don't want to sacrifice adequate protein nutrients, for more added fat..now do we?? How could that be beneficial?? Just a concern about this overall question.. Although Kelly, your labs did look great, I would say.. It's kind of a mystery here, about percentages..or ratios.. Of course I always thought Carnivore was high fat and moderate to high-ish protein anyway..I've never done the whole technical measuring thing..So I'm not sure what is supposed to be required..I just always go, 'on a wing and a prayer'!! Haha!! :>) Whatever works; seems to be the conclusion for now.. But do keep us informed as you gather more info..Thanks for your help on the way!!

Aesop's fables said it all; Jack Spratt could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean, but together they could lick the plate clean. There it is in a nursery rhyme. Women need a high fat diet.

Hi, I like to see you videos, I learn a lot about carnivore diet. I started carnivore diet just before summer not to lose weight but to health my skin (eczema). This diet is great because it's an eliminated diet. I started to get some weight, so I switch to high fat moderate meat. Like you said, my principal issue was to deal with the volume of what i ate. The food in my plate was so little, that my feeling an my gut told me you need to eat more...and I did....and I get more weight, LoL. Because I tracked the amount of meat and fat I was eating it was easy to figure out that I was eating to much meat. so decrease the amount of meat around 100 gr 3 times a day and 30/35 gr of fat 3 times a day and my weight came back to normal. I tried different fat and I just figured out (a few days ago) that butter cause me inflammation, even ghee, so I switched for beef fat, and I feel better now, but I need to work on my eczema. I watched a video with Dr Bright and I'm trying to drink a smoothie with 2 yolk, beef fat and hot water every morning and no protein....I love it. So fixing health issue is a long journey.......but it worth it. Thank you for all the videos, you help me and help a lot of people.

I began the carnivore diet on June 20th, 2022. I’m 61 years old. I’m not overweight. I weigh about 190, at 6’-4” tall. I changed to this eating plan, due to some health issues that I was noticing in myself. I ask the local butcher for beef fat trimmings, at the grocery store. I cook them down, for extra fat in my diet, plus the fat drippings (tallow). I fry about 10-12 eggs every morning, for breakfast and I always add the fat drippings in my breakfast. The fat is extremely satiating and keeps me satisfied until I get home and eat dinner. Thank you for the great video.

How do you cook down the fat trimmings? Do you boil it, stir fry? Crock pot? I don’t have an air fryer, so I could use some advice. Thank you so much.

I discovered recently that insulin is required to activate deiodinase 1 and 2, which are the enzymes that convert T4 to T3. So if people are in a permanent state of ketosis, with constant very low insulin levels, they may well be negatively affecting their Thyriod health and metabolism. Something nobody in the keto space talks about (that I've seen anyway except for one person on KZitem).

I don't understand why you would be surprised about your lipids. You were doing high fat diet which was essentially keto and your body is burning fat for fuel.

I just found you and I’m excited. I have been doing mostly carnivore but still eating bad carbs, chips and those damn Oreo thins. So as I decided to get back checking my blood sugar one morning low and behold it was 285. I was like what the heck are you doing to yourself. So today is day two no carbs or sugar ( I’m a sugar addict for sure). I am determined to be strict carnivore for the rest of my life. I’m 62 years old, just starting a new business and a working senior model. I expect 2023 to be an amazing healthy year.

Hi Kelly, I have a question. I have been carnivore for 2 yrs. Before that I was a vegetarian for 8 yrs. I am still getting boils. Like you mentioned on one of your videos. How long does it take for them to stop coming up. And what's your best suggestion to heal them?? Thanks, Wendy

Congratulations! But you should have known since childhood what carbs are. It’s generally known we need to eat low carb, that cookies, bread, sweets are toxic. You look healthy!
