-Tim you do great stuff. -Thank you -A few suggestions: 1. That’s not a real smash burger. We can to better. 2. You gotta really smash the burger & give it a true crust (Maillard reaction). 3. To get that crust, u gotta get that griddle hot… 425° to 475°. 4. The griddle u used (from Costco?) is not cast iron. Looks like an aluminum/non stick & those griddles are not meant to heat that high. Plus a non-stick surface will never give u a true crust. Gotta be cast iron & u have to really need to smash the burger (hold the smasher for 5 seconds) on the griddle. 5. To make a true Smashburger, the grind should be 80/20. Your PE ratios are soBering. I did not realize what a great difference it is. I think your compromise of 85/15 is good. 6. Lettuce wraps aren’t bad, but let’s be honest, you do miss that bun. A great alternative is to use a low carb or no carb tortilla and make a smashed taco burger. I won’t go into detail on that, all you need to do is search for that on KZitem. It’s quite a treat. And will yield similar results.

90/10 is perfect. I like to eat the full lb for 1 meal that’s easy 90 grams protein. I weigh 160lb n maintaining so I need like 2lbs or 1.5lb if I eat eggs n bacon.

Ok but i thought we were avoiding vegetables unless they were cooked? Is lettuce exempt from that?

You're getting them with good looking food. The average adult needs about 50 grams of Protein per day and complex carbohydrates which fuel the brain. If you're overweight you must start moving; there's no easy way out.

If you don't have a big spatula to smash your burger, just use the bottom of another skillet (ideally cast iron) or even a heavy pot. Free. Love your videos....great job!

Nice but I’ve decided that AGAIN obsessing about macros is anxiety producing which just doesn’t help because of cortisol production. I upped my protein for my health. I’m 73. But you guys go ahead. There will something else in a year or so. I see anxiety and worry on doing this “right” in so many comments. Believe me I can see it. I had a serious eating disorder when I was young. Lighten up folks! 😀👍🏻. It’s more fun that way.

I put the burger between 2 airfryer liners ( greaseproof paper) and roll them out with a rolling pin. Cook in the airfryer 8 mins each. Make a filling with cream cheese, grated cheddar and chopped gerkins. Pile onto one burger and airfry 2 minutes, put the other on top 2 minutes. Let cool enough to handle. For me, no lettuce, no tomato and no onion (although the onion does look good)

what are your thoughts on chicken wings made in the air fryer? I just bought the PE book last night and its taking me awhile to get through

I think using an air fryer is a nice alternative as long as you're keeping the heat below 350. The least amount of cooking oil the better!
