I own one of these. A 2023. Peter's description of the adaptive cruise control is excellent, but he does not mention one thing that I have discovered much to my chagrin. If you are in heavy traffic and using the adaptive cruise control, you have 5 following distances from which to choose (this is a menu selection): Very Long, Long, Medium, Short, and Very Short. Even in Very Short mode which is the obvious one to use in slow heavy traffic, the bike leaves a fairly hefty hole between you and the vehicle in front of you. The amount of "short" is not adjustable. The huge hole left by this cruise control invites idiots in the other lanes to cut in front of you. When they do, the bike does a sudden throttle closure (it does not automatically apply the brakes) in order to restore the selected following distance. It will catch you by surprise. It becomes annoying to the point where I just shut it off and go back to manual throttle, which allows me to protect my position in the flow of traffic. The one saving grace I have is that I live in California so lane-splitting is legal and I avoid the problem. (No, I do not use cruise control when lane-splitting.)

Great VDO, it's good that you widen your line of brands, Peter 👌 Your channel will grow exceptionally (as you well deserve), mate 👍

nice video - thank you. So it comes standard with other mounts for side panniers? The KTM panniers just bolt on with no new brackets?

The storage box at the front will not fit a smart phone (iphone/android). It is good for small item like keys and sunglasses

Nice review, thanks Peter. How many gallons are in this 160 hp Adventure KTM? Does the Kawasaki Versys have similar horsepower for the 1000cc version? For a taller seat, if I put groceries or cargo on the backseat, I have to really kick my leg up to be able to hop back on. ;)

23 litres. I've just done a European tour and it returned 57 UK MPG. So about 250 mile tank range

@@enricohagn This is just understandable. He just ran out of fuel consumption as the KTM averaged 400 km per tank.

Great overview. Just started looking at this bike. I saw the service intervals are 10K miles. Would you mind posting large and small service costs?
@PeterLoweOne

That's probably not something that I'll dig into on this channel. I produce a video every weekday, and that's a lot of research. If I have to start posting service costs, that gets tricky. Some of these servicing costs could vary per dealer as they're free to set their own pricing from most manufacturers. I feel like posting that information is just setting me up for battles with the comments section. If I post something in Canadian dollars, and the Americans have a different system, (or just a different dollar) it can get a little into the weeds. I've already had 5 Americans upset with me this week because I say Zed and not Zee! 🤣 The internet is awesome!
