Miami will be under water in 100 years, neighborhoods are already being abandoned on the expensive island properties in the area. 30% of waterfront homes are for sale…. That says something & those homeowners are smart

Miami Beach is a barrier island and was once home to a diversity of animal life. Building on it should have never been permitted. No matter how much money you spend to own a piece of it, the earth will always take back what is hers.

Miami beach was bought a hundred years ago. I was just down around Kissimmee and an airboat captain told me the whole story.

@@johnnymcblaze Old news, here's the latest - A 40-y record reveals gradual Antarctic sea ice increases followed by decreases at rates far exceeding the rates seen in the Arctic. The rapid decreases reduced the Antarctic sea ice extents to their lowest values in the 40-y record, both on a yearly average basis (record low in 2017) and on a monthly basis (record low in February 2017).

Miami will become like New Orleans, an island city with levees and pumping stations to keep it dry. The question is how big an area will the state, county, city and the US Army corps of engineers enclose? Real estate within the levee will be expensive, real estate outside the levee will become worthless.

Here's the bigger question, should taxpayers foot the bill for the project? What DOES Miami do that provides something the rest of the country depends on? Hey, maintaining productive farm land makes sense, shuffleboard courts not so much.
