That was the best idea you gave me. Flip my kayak so I would truly understand the limits of its stability.

Hey Alex! Great review! I purchased a Salty last May. So far I only have about 5 or 6 outings (all inshore California coast) I really like the boat, but I feel like the drive is “stiffer” than expected. It’s absolutely still a fast yak, but when I watch videos other peoples drive seem to be like “butter” and mine takes a little heavier foot. Just curious if you have any advice before I contact OT 🤷🏼♂️ Will it loosen up? Could it be a bad drive? Do I need to replace a pin or add a grease? Thanks in advance for any tips 🤙 PS I’m in good shape, so pretty confident it’s not just my weak legs 😬🤣

new drives tend to be stiff, should get better overtime, also drives are like bikes going up a hill, you will get used to it

I feel like it shouldn't be stiff after a trip or two. Old Town customer service is supposed to be good you should contact them. Cheers

For that kind of$ you would think they could design a way yo keep water out of the boat!! The hell with getting getting used to any discomfort!!
