HIGHLIGHTS | Southampton 1-1 Man City | Aymeric Laporte goal

Aymeric Laporte’s second half header earned City a share the spoils at Southampton in what was a pulsating Premier League encounter at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The hosts had taken an early lead through Kyle Walker-Peters’ seventh minute shot.

Pep Guardiola’s side though responded in kind with Laporte deservedly heading home from Kevin De Bruyne’s pinpoint free-kick midway through the second half.

City came close to forcing a winner but had to settle for a point as our 12 match Premier League winning run was finally checked.

It was still a landmark occasion though with the draw seeing Guardiola record his 500th point as City boss - achieving the feat in the quickest time in league history - and saw us stretch our lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

Congratulation to Southampton for stretching their unbeaten run at St Mary's to eight games. It was a absorbing and entertaining game. Forster performed excellently under goalpost and proved the main hurdle in City's 13th straight win. The resilience of Southampton team was remarkable.
