I loved this presentation. The music is GREAT. The filming is good, not shakey or blurry. Ill never get to do this road trip again but your video sure takes me back to one of the best road trips ive ever, if not THE BEST road trip i've ever been on.

Greetings, Patriot751! Sadly, Dardanell campground and resort burned in the 2018 fires, before Paradise; my Death Valley flick has a passing shot of the devastation at about the 11:40 mark. It had just changed hands, too. Hopefully it's back up and running. Was the annual Norton riders gathering spot back then. Shoot some video, let's see what it looks like now - and have a great trip!

Thanks for sharing this. I drove over Sonora pass in 1997 to visit Yosemite. 120 was still closed. Spent the day in the park and drove back over 108 to our hotel in Lee Vining. Got caught in a hail storm that turned into thunder snow on Sonora pass. That was the scariest thing I’d ever done up to that point in my life driving or otherwise. It’s a beautiful drive.

@Sally Morris - Thanks, high praise indeed! All in good fun, only wish my fav cam hadn't decided to malfunction that day. Have to agree, of the four passes, 108 Sonora Pass is the best. Blue sky, warm sun, spectacular ride.

Soloed Santa Rosa, CA > Telluride Blue Grass Festival '02, via Sonora Pass, >Bridgeport, > Hawthorne, > Tonopah, > Rachel, > Cedar Breaks, > Bryce Canyon, > Escalante, Torrey, > Blanding. Returned Hwy. 50. Outside of Sonora, heading east, a VERY STEEP entrance to the Sonora Pass road. (left turn?) Did you encounter/remember that? Or maybe they graded/smoothed that section out since I rode it. I can't locate that stretch on Google Earth. (been up & down Hwy. 108)

Hi pnwoods- I was headed west, don't think I encountered the road you describe. Traveling west, 108 gradually goes from a windy one-lane road to longer straights and eventually a second lane. It turns into freeway entering Sonora. Could you be thinking of 120/Tioga Pass thru Yosemite?

Ha! Uh, yeah, well... worth every penny! Enjoy the scenery in CA before they burn it down. Gas was $5.29 premium (4.99 regular) at that same station on my way back from Death Valley run last fall.

It’s back up to $4.99 again. Gotta pay for the illegal aliens housing, food, healthcare somehow.

Not on this one, but JJ graces a few other videos here. His 3-string shovel guitar version of The Star Spangled Banner is on my Downieville 4th of July ride from 2019. That man is a massive talent..... No idea - still - where the instrumental on this one came from, only happened across it from an obscure aircraft show. Thanks for asking - and watching!
