@@thequokkahaslanded321 I think he's genuinely witty. The written jokes weren't the funny parts. He's a sociopath who built a career of lies and fantasy, but I agree that if he'd stuck to comedy he'd have been really good, and a bit less atrocious. GW Bush though? He could make himself laugh, but no one else. He was just a joke.

American, and had only ever heard Boris Johnson's name before I started watching HIGNFY. I think he's perfectly aware of *why* he's an easy target, I think he plays into it, and just doesn't care - he has that best characteristic in someone trying to be funny, a willingness to be made to look undignified. I think if he were American he could become president - and the hair wouldn't hurt his chances!

@troumer

I disagree and think you are greatly underestimating good ol' BoJo. He knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how it looked to most people. The "buffoonery" made him look non-threatening and gave him reduced accountability for all the lies and bullshit. When you consider the outright lies he told about Brexit--regardless of whether you were pro or con on the issue itself--it's unbelievable that he still has any sort of political career. By convincing people he's an incompetent cluebag, he's also convinced them not to hold him responsible for "little mistakes" that would have ended other gov't careers. It's 100 % calculated. Rees-Mogg is doing the same thing.
@RIXRADvidz
5 жыл бұрын
I was hoping he was just a genuine idiot who had been lucky at every turn and ended up in his seat, but I'm afraid the darkness is stronger and yes, his every move, his every word and deed are a calculated effort to form the public opinion, thus keeping him in the spotlight, whether he holds an office or not. quite scary actually.
