When i am listening to Higurashi songs i feel like i am dying inside. This story is just beautiful and i hope i will play it again one day (USELESS INFORMATION) : Not now though, i am only 13 years old, i think i need to grow up a little bit before playing that again. I think that i will find it more deep in 15 or 16 years old. (also i am sorry if my english is terrible)

@@rookierookieboy When they cry series definitely gets better as you age. There's a huge focus on personal growth and recognising and overcoming one's flaws, or them destroying you. As you get older, those themes only resonate with you more and more. over 10 years ago I came to higurashi to see silly over-the-top violence and torture scenes. Now I stay for the powerfully human themes, satisfying storylines and the undercurrent of deep wisdom throughout it all.

Usually "face in the moon/sky" scenes occur in anime/games when characters die and are being fondly remembered, but Satoru in Higurashi is not actually dead (though everyone thinks he is for most of the game).

His name is actually Satoshi but this moon scene appeared when Shion fall from a building and apoligizing for Satoshi. Btw Shion really loved him, but he has gone missing away. She doesn't even know if he is alive or dead

You are correct (and I forgot his name because it's been a while since I've played Higurashi)! I haven't watched the anime so I didn't know the context of this scene (I remember her hallucinating Satoshi during Meakashi but there were no visuals for it in the VN). Either way I was just joking (though apparently my joke was misguided given the context of this scene).

This song also felt like it was filled with hopelessness and loss. But it is still somehow beautiful and peaceful like maybe someone accepting their death?
@circle3565

3 years late but that's actually a perfect description for it, since the final scene in Meakashi before this song plays on the credits depicts exactly such a scene: After stabbing Keiichi, Shion slips on the emergency stairs while trying to get back to her room and lands on the roof of another room beneath hers and smashes her head, but survives. The enormous pain somehow clears the Hinamizawa Syndrome from her head and she feels incredibly at peace, taking the time to let it dawn upon her what exactly she has done and how badly she's messed up. She starts to cry and mentally apologize to Satoko, Mion and everyone else while also realizing what she needs to do to prevent such a scenario from ever happening again, gratefully thanks Satoshi for letting her know love even though she "was a demon" and then decides to roll off the roof to her death so she can join Mion on the other side. As she dies, Shion wishes she was never born and contemplates her loses, but also feels happy that she lived and peacefully accepts her death. Exactly what you said, basically

blubeagle55 Honestly this song doesn't even feel sad to me, regardless of whether the emotion is there or not. The only thing I get from this is a feeling of hope, peacefulness, and even happiness. Fitting for the series as a whole really. Despite all the despair, and all the horrible things that happen through the series those aren't what I think of when I think of Higurashi; but rather the hope, the happy times and the fight to take them back and keep them.
@MysteriousYou2br

Rika Furude Well, hope and happiness can make one cry too... Especially in this song. It feels almost warm and comforting... like "you didn't make it this time, but next time everything will work out". I agree with your perception of the series completely. If someone only focuses on the darkness and sadness, then they're missing the point of the series entirely.

문학적으로 수준 높은 작품이니. 확실히 서양인들도 많이 멋짐을 아는 게 신기한 일이긴 하지.
