Perhaps a more obscure Florida State Park, Prices Scrub can be found right along I-75 near Gainesville. There are plenty of trails here and the terrain changes in a few different areas. Not all the trails are well warn but there are plenty of miles to enjoy. I started by doing the Northern Loop, then the Middle Loop, then I attempted to do the Southern Loop but it was quite flooded. The tropical storm that became Hurricane Debby had passed by a week prior to my visit, and this was on the strong side of the storm.
I found deer early on. Two bucks up on a ridge in the distance was great but they were unfortunately already running away before I got the camera on them. The next section I passed through had lots of large spiders. I only filmed a few, but there plenty of impressive arachnids to be found.
Afternoon showers eventually caught up with me. It was okay because I did come prepared for the rain.
Once it passed I saw a gopher tortoise running away at top speed. All that and several different bugs and birds were filmed.
There were several deer that didn't get filmed. Some because the trail I was following disappeared. Was spending too much energy finding my way and not trying to spot wildlife before it spotted me. Pretty sure one doe was laying in the middle of what was the trail, but I missed it.
Also missed one during the rain storm. Juggling the monopod and umbrella can be a challenge. Also hard to hear while its raining, so I may have missed other animals.
Another time it was difficult to hear was along the interstate, That section isn't long but of course it can be loud. There were cool mushrooms out there and even some rolling hill I didn't expect for a swampy area.
