A new hiking route in Gran Canaria in which we take you on a walk through the Tamadaba Natural Park, within the territory declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This natural area also has one of the best-preserved Canary Island pine forests: the Tamadaba pine forest. It is also home to other species endemic to Gran Canaria, such as the blue chaffinch.
This is a circular route around the Pico de la Bandera of about 10 kilometres. We can classify it as an intermediate level route, given its distance, but if you do it at your own pace it could also be for beginners, as there are no complicated steps. We leave you all the technical characteristics and the track at localguidegrancanaria.com so you can do it on your own. As you can see in the video, we will pass by the Llanos de la Mimbre viewpoint, one of the must-sees in Tamadaba.
Finally, as you can see in the video, we will take you to eat some good Saharan squid in the beautiful village of Artenara.
You have all the information to do this hiking route in Tamadaba in our blog. We also mention more places to visit in this natural park:
