The Cuillin of Skye are Britain's most technically challenging mountains well known for their Alpine like majesty and their wonderful climbing and scrambling opportunities. Great bastions of gabbro forged from the guts of an ancient volano, they form a darkly atmospheric mountaineering arena that is intimidating and awe inspiring in the same breath.
The southern tip of the Cuillins are known for the excellent scrambling and it was certainly found to be the case.
Starting from Glen Brittle campsite this was a second outing in the Cuillins during a week long trip to Skye, accessing the ridge via Coir a' Ghrunnda getting to Sgurr Nan Eag was a relatively simple hike and scramble, (and not a graded route), but still had some harder sections with some impressive drops to take in!
The summit of Sgurr Nan Eag had spectacular views and it proved to a an amazing and fun scrambling experience!
