At the end of summer of 2023, Netty and I traveled back to Yosemite National Park and met up with our nephews Christopher and Alex, for another hiking adventure.
We stayed in the valley the first night, in Curry Village, then drove up to Glacier Point the following day to hike on the Panorama Trail to Little Yosemite Valley.
The permit we got for our trek had us starting at Glacier Point with our overnight stays in Little Yosemite Valley then exiting the trail at Happy Isles. Glacier Point to Little Yosemite Valley is about 7 miles one way, and we only did the trail one way as we hiked to the valley floor, via the John Muir Trail, at the end of our adventure.
We actually had permits to hike Half Dome but unfortunately, I had some struggles with how exposed I felt on Sub-Dome so we turned around before actually making it up to Half Dome. I’ll conquer it next time for sure!
Even though we didn’t make it up Half Dome, we still saw some amazing sites. We were amazed at the beauty of Nevada Fall and thought Illilouette Creek was pretty cool as well. And wait to you see some of the views from Sub-Dome itself.
It’s hard to put into words the beauty you experience on a hike like this without actually being there. We would love for you to come along with us and experience the beauty as well!
