It's really annoying that somebody can do something 'wrong' and yet be discharged without conviction because to be officially convicted would punish them................! WTF?!

It looks like Chloe Swarbrick was assisting her in shoplifting as she appears to be a “straky” in the video. Which is street language for someone who distracts the retail staff while the other shoplifts. This is a known tactic.

She needs to be sentenced appropriately, just like everyone else. Too many of these woke politicians think they're above the law.

How cruel you would suggest such things. She's clearly suffering from our Colonialist system, incidentally the one she has chosen to join as an MP on 180000 plus a year. I feel her pain! No actually I don't.

Pay back what she stole. Disbarred from practicing Law for life. She’s a poor example of a lawyer and that’s saying something. Politicians and White collar thieves stealing for frills and kicks are the worst.

Im glad we have a media commentator who has been on the inside of politics. Please read Michael's book "The Demon Profession" published 1998. I think the more things change the more they stay the same. What is described as far as process and pushing shit up hill in government in Michael's book still persists.

Selective memory. These people go through University 'Media Studies' and in doing so, they learn how to use psychology to create their conversation. It's a well studied topic. For example; to win an argument, simply use the technique of DARVO. Your opponent doesn't stand a chance: DARVO = Discredit your opponent + Attack (make your opponent sound like they are a failure) Reverse Victim and Offende... ' It wasn't us, it was you!". It's used often. Example: "It's not the virus that's the problem. It's the people who won't take an untested drug!" Easy as 123...

Seems a serious Sheep problem still, in NZ. I like this lady, Hilary use to come into a shop I worked in, with a friend here in Dunedin. Didn't know her, until recently on here. Always polite and very pleasant having a conversation. Hard to find genuine people anymore and JA is not one of them! Some people really have short memory loss! Boot camp is a great idea, after the age of 12 is when they need help before going down the wrong track! A good swift sorting of Discipline and boundaries is what these children require. They just want to feel like they belong and need a different environment.

Well, Chris Hipkins doesnt know how to define a woman, regarding the transgender issue so why would you even go with his views. Absolutely she should be convicted, why shouldnt she be, she knew what she was doing, just because she's a lawyer, she shouldnt have a soft sentence, she should be made an example, as I wouldnt trust a crooked lawyer, if you are prepared to charge the ordinary person on the street with jail, then she practising law should be made an example of.

At a time of lawlessness and theft , you'd at least expect those who govern or aspire to lead to be a shining light for everyone else ! So what sort of example should we expect when one of them betrays our trust and expectation of common law ?

'She's suffered enough' are you aving a larf 😂 she was on an obscene salary plus all the benefits including a massive clothing allowance, PAID FOR by the tax payer and was so greedy that STILL wasnt enough, then after being caught, oh she has mental health issues (surprise surprise) I hope the judge throws the book at her because she has no remorse other than being caught. Do the crime do the time. One law for EVERYONE. I have zero sympathy for people who are greedy gaslighters and full of self entitlement.

If your employee steals, you dismiss them, seeking a conviction to deter fellow employees from following suit. Why does this not apply here? We have forgotten somewhere along the line that these people work for us, we employ them. Tell a politician they're a public servant and the first reaction they have is to laugh. This is the attitude that needs to be curbed.

Instead of boot camps with no specific vocational purpose the youth courts should direct youth offenders into special regular force cadet intakes. For those too far gone to be trusted in the army there should be a parallel labour service where they are trained and build national infrastructure.

Time for Michael to up his game. Constantly leaning back in his chair with arms behind his head is bloody rude. Also, slurping his coffee while wearing a live microphone right next to his mouth is very unappealing. Both of these gestures exhibit a total FU attitude on his behalf. What's next, feet on the desk? Come on, sharpen up
