I have to say, your care videos are so pleasant to watch. I don't even have aquariums anymore but the fast yet efficient way you present information on different species is phenomenal

Nice. I have one with a Dwarf Gourami, a breeding Mono Angel pair, two Tiger Barbs (out of 6 I had initially bought two years ago), a Common Pleco, 2 Black mollies, a White Sailfin Molly, 4 Apple Snails, a Rosy Barb (infected with various diseases that killed the other three, now in a seperate quarantine) and an underground network of Malaysian Trumpet Snails. Too much for a 66 gallon?

The loach in this video is Sewellia Lineolata, a Vietnamese species, not Chinese.

Hello! I’m a beginner/intermediate fish keeper. I have an outdoor pond with goldfish and koimets ( koi/goldfish hybrids) currently, and I’ve had guppies, ghost shrimp and 2 Betta fish in the past. I only have the goldfish pond now, and I really want to set up my 5 gallon long tank again. I will be using live plants and some shrimp, and letting the tank cycle for a few weeks before adding a Betta fish (make or female; not decided). And I was wondering if you think having a small loach or cory catfish with a betta would be too much for my tank to handle? I can’t find a straight answer anywhere, and I’d love to have a Hillstream Loach or a Panda Cory. (I’ve never had a catfish or loach before) Anywho, I’d appreciate your thought on this and any ideas you might have. I understand my tank is very small, and I’ll be happy with my Betta if it’s too small for a bottom-dwelling fish. I’m sorry for the long story :/ Thank you so much for your time!

You already said it... a 5 gallon tank is barely sufficient for a betta. Besides that corys and hillstream loaches should better be kept in groups of at least 5 in order for them to thrive as they're social animals.

@@sunlounger29 Hi there. Well. It’s a little late now, but thank you for your advice. I did end up researching some more, and now I have my 5 gallon tank set up with 4 Endlers Livebearers, 2 Mystery Snails, 1 Nerite Snail and a bunch of shrimp. The water is extremely healthy and clear, my live plants are flourishing and I now have lots of baby shrimp (I might have to use some of them as feeders for my Betta, who’s in a different tank…….) Anyway, my tank is very healthy and I love watching my fish, snails and shrimp. And my Betta, Bloopy, is happy in his own tank 😄

Will a ph of 6.5 be ok for hillstream loaches? And will they be ok with most aquarium antibiotics? I dosed my 55 gallon planted tank with furan-2.

They can climb out of a tank if you don't have a lid on.
