Looks like a solid saw for sure. I appreciate you putting it to use for a few months before making the video. It always baffles me that any tool manufacturer will put out a tool with such a stupid flaw like that rafter hook. As soon as I saw the first view of it I immediately thought it must be in the way and then you confirmed that. They want $279 for a saw and we can't trust them to bring in some seasoned veterans to run it through the most basic practical applications? Saws 1/3 the cost have more pragmatic rafter hooks. Good review nonetheless sir.

Nice review of the 7-1/4 Hilti Nuron , great dust ejection chute my only wish is it was left sight cut. like all 6 - 1/2 saws, i'm so used to that line of sight.

Nice saw. For production framing I think the dust deflector would get broken.

With all the tech going into the batteries, I'd like to see an option to remote disable the batteries to help prevent theft.

At first I didn't like this saw because of the length and requirement of using the giant 8ah battery compared to the XGT 7-1/4" (and the others I had to import). Line of sight and dust collection not being an afterthought have won me over.

Would consider Hilti if I could buy them for those prices. Where I live you have to sell your house and give up your first born to own one. Then you still don't get all the service benefits because there are so few outlets and the distance to the nearest one can be huge. Some big firms have contracts but as a lot of them are going under that won't help Hilti.

@@aaronvx220 Milwaukee and Makita XGT are now pretty close (the same on some tools) to Hilti prices in AU. Not sure how Hilti deals with individuals, but my old company dealt with a Hilti rep. We'd just give them a call and they'd often drive to our site to drop of resin, et cetera. I still wouldn't consider Hilti as their smallest battery is just too big for a lot of tools.

Tool Scientist i did have a look, I still think they are slightly more expensive. I don’t think they do combo kits like the other brands do, however correct me if needed. The main reason I would consider Hilti is their warranty. However I’m waiting to see what the price will be of the new Nuron when they are released in Australia. At least it will give me a bit of time to save up 😬

@@aaronvx220 you can configure your own kit, but doesn't seem to give any sort of discount. Whatever you do, don't look at their battery prices (nearly double everyone else)

It’s obvious this is a paid review and sounds exactly word for word like the manufacturer marketing material.
