Hey guys, Colin here at Carolina Active Health. I'm going to be going over hip CARs, also known as Controlled Articular Rotations
Hip Assessment and Mobility:
Hip CARs are not only a great assessment tool but are also good drills to utilize to improve the mobility of your hips. The movement of the hip CAR starts with you keeping your standing leg straight with your hand on the wall for support. You are only going to be moving the leg away from the wall.
The motion begins by bringing your leg up to a 90/90 position. Then from that position, bring your knee out without the other hip rotating. The next step is to rotate your thigh and knee inward until your knee and foot are parallel. From there, you will bring the knee and the foot back and down. Once this is done you will reverse the motion.
