I'm dedicated to keeping these videos as realistic as possible. Whether I'm in pain or having a good pain control day. I want these to represent the reality of having something life changing done, whether it is having hip dysplasia, any other type of surgery or situation. You will see me cry, you will see me struggle, but the most important thing I hope I get across is the optimism you must maintain in order to get through it.
My name is Lexie Brown I'm 29 years old, and I have hip dysplasia (yes, like a dog.)
Basically, hip dysplasia happens when the hip socket doesn't fully form around the femoral head. Most people with hip dysplasia are born with it. In my case it is congenital, several of my cousins were born with it, however theirs were discovered while they were babies.
!1This is my story. We're starting right after my second surgery the PAO or periacetabular osteotomy. I will be having my left hip, and so we will eventually come full circle.
