Hip fractures are a type of femoral neck fractures which are osteoporotic fractures after simple falls. It is always treated with surgery. Screwing is applied in young active patients, and hip prosthesis is applied in elderly patients with separated fractures. These fractures may be an indication that something is wrong in later life. Therefore, the risk of death in a year is around 30 percent.
