So Home Free originally did a video for this song when Chris was still a member in 2016 that was filmed at Mount Rushmore, but this was a big project they put together, and it was actually in the running for a CMA award, but it did not make it to the nomination round which were announced today. The guys have been doing this song, especially at their summers shows since the early years of the group which started in Dec 2000. And if you listen closely at the end you can hear Adam doing the fly over sound just like he did in the 2016 video. There is also a Home Away from Home video (I think its ep 19) on the making of this video if you are interested.

I'm former Navy... each service has a "Musicians Rate" they serve for formal/informal parades they are enlisted, officer, but most KNOW music. Its built into their advancement to grow as a musician, composer, director. Most, if not all, play more than one instrument, then there are the vocalists equally as accomplished. There are various groups within too, Jazz, dinner bands, full orchestras. Sometimes the different services will combine musicians for events, some services are used exclusively for some events. IE: Marine Band serves the White House.

Thank you for reacting to this video and a big thank you to both of your brothers who are serving in the Air Force. You can actually go into the Air Force as a musician. The United States Air Force Band is a U.S. military band consisting of 184 active-duty members of the United States Air Force. It is the Air Force's premier musical organization and is based at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.. Within the band there are six performing ensembles: The Concert Band, Singing Sergeants, Airmen of Note, Air Force Strings, Ceremonial Brass, Max Impact. Collectively, these musical groups perform a wide spectrum of styles, including classical, jazz, popular, patriotic and ceremonial music. The mission of the Band is to deliver musical products that inspire emotions, create positive impressions and communicate information according to Air Force objectives for the defense of the United States of America. The Band is part of the United States Air Force Bands Program, which consists of 8 active-duty stateside bands[2] 2 overseas active-duty band locations and 5 Air National Guard bands.

This was written and preformed by Lee Greenwood for many years. Home Free did a cover of it some time back, and then they decided it was time for a collaboration. Lee still brought it, even at 77yrs old. He even said that having Home Free singing this allowed him to do a little to change up what he had always done with it, and it was a whole new level.

I'm not particularly a home free fan, I'm more of a Pentatonix girl. I think they are amazingly talented I'm just not a country music fan. But I remember when this song came out, and it was huge because I recall it was during the Gulf war I think part 1. And I mean everybody was playing this song. I believe this version was made during covid, so maybe there was something good came out of that whole thing. Still prefer Pentatonix though LOL. But I'm giving thanks to all of our service people. I'm from a very strong military family, and I give a particular shout out to my uncle and my grandfather who served in world war 2. Both men had survived and came home that were very changed men and ended up drinking themselves to death. Also a big shout-out to people that are often forgotten about which is the families of our service people. It's definitely not easy sending your father or your mother or your wife or your husband or brother or what have you off and waiting months and sometimes years with worry and loneliness. Believe me the families served too.

Darren Rust took Chris Rupp's arrangement for Home Free and expanded it for Lee and the Singing Sergeants which is the top vocal ensemble in the USAF. The USAF Airmen of Note is the continuation of Glenn Miller's service big band. Their concert band is amazing. Check out some of their holiday flash mob videos to appreciate these truly wonderful musicians. My friend, Bob Thurston was the chief arranger for the USAF concert band and was the mastermind and arranger for the flash mobs. kzitem.info/news/bejne/yH-luZuXcKaLg5w
