The difference between a parent who’s explaining this move and anyone else is the word “tippy.”

Hahah judo is hardcore. Even just at 32, I feel too old now to ever train Judo regularly. It's tough on the body.

I've only ever seen the person forcing this throw get countered with a variety of mat returns. Have you seen or experienced many injuries with people attempting to force this throw?

Ya I busted my friend Joey's knee from forcing a hip throw when we were purple belts. Learned a big lesson from it and try to prevent others from making the same mistake.

I got a fractured tibial plateau from a botched throw similar to this.. I think it’s pretty rare but still..
@josepho3931

That’s more of Tai Otoshi because you’re using your leg to chop the outer leg which is why it could be dangerous for the knee, compared to a hip throw where you’re physically lifting your partner up with your hips by getting under them and tossing them over the side.
@josepho3931

Nevermind, this is more of a harai goshi, a sweeping hip throw.

I don't call that a hip throw. A true hip throw scoops his hips up w yours and then throws, that way you can throw a larger opponent safely (safe for you)with leverage. I call that a "trip"

This is more of a judo style finish than a wrestling style finish. Still a hip throw.

This is evidence enough that you don't train. And if you do, you're at some scrub gym surrounded by fuckwits like yourself.
