First it was Tatsuro Yamashita. Then it was Toshiki Kadomatsu. Afterwards there came Toshinobu Kubota, and now this dude. I'll be damned if people give shit about finding these tracks because of Vaporwave, but I'll be damned if anyone doesn't admit that the journey didn't lead them to some incredible talent they never knew about, because I sure as hell didn't until then. Did Japan intentionally keep these guys a secret because if it wasn't for Vaporwave I would have NEVER heard of these cats!! This is music I could have used while I was in college! Hot damn!!

@@dianacrippa3093 il fact, Hiroshi Satoh was absoluty nuts about Minimoog, so i guess he used this on this track. For complete the quote of @adam Harris, the DMX was used not only for the snare, it was used for the hi-hat, claps, crash cymbal, bass drums and tom tom :p

@@BenDover-yy9qe Yes, It is. The sample was came from one of the most famous instrument in the 80s, the Fairlight CMI. According to the Japanese Wikipedia page of this album, "This Boy" (1985) (ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/THIS_BOY), these are some of the keyboards and synthesizers (as well as drum machines) that he used in this track so far: Shiny Lady Oberheim DMX (Drums), Sequential Circuits Drumtracks (Drums), MiniMoog (Bass), Okachimachi Funk Brothers: (Oberheim XPANDER, Yamaha DX-7, MiniMoog, Moog Source, Roland System-100M, Fairlight CMI, Kurzweil K250) As there are our lovely fellow listeners already mention, Oberheim DMX was used for one of the drums in this song. Liam Recacho everybody started mixing accesible futurefunk with 0 inspiration choosing generic accesible sound and all of a sudden everything sounded almost the same, generic, accesible cosumerist Mass media sound. the weary, somber, dark moody sound is out of the picture and tracks such as baby baby by tanuki or Macintosh 420 all in your head...well, thats dead. if you enjoyed the first ominous batch of vaporwave( when it was very niche and specifically somber) ,you are fucked. japanese city pop still sounds dope af tho
