Rory had a very special relationship with his fans. He'd rather play in a small intimate setting with fewer people, then in one of those Mega stadiums with 100,000 people he can't interact with. Great guitarist, and a great guy. He's a hell of an Irishman!

great to see newbies find our Rory these 2 generations later and totally getting it ..without being there to see him yourself its hard to imagine because people today fail to know or feel the great affection we felt towards him..\Rory had a beauty about him in real life that was comming from very humble place and he got the respect of ALL his elders such as Chuck and Muddy Waters who was to have Rory come on tour with him for guest appearences..He played with Jack Bruce from Cream and hosts of notable legends ..You will have to just start at the beginning and watch him go with..Greatness and sadly way too soon. once again It was a case of death by doctors .Death by perscription drugs and doctors who have a lisence to kill.)

There's only one Rory Gallagher, but we'll never get an artist like him who just lived for the music and fuck any of the fame, like turned down Deep Purple to stay doing his own thing, and he loved to be intimate with his audience, which isn't surprising with his Irish poet tradition of never letting anything distract you from the love of your craft. And in Ireland if you just say Rory we know who to put on for any occasion..... Check out "Going to my Hometown" by Rory next if you want more surprises

@@bryanphelan9616 You`re Absolutely Right Mr. Phelan...There`s always a comment about Rory not getting the recognition he deserved blah blah blah, Rory didn`t want all that, he didn`t like the "industry" his biggest fear was to have a hit single in the charts, Rory was the real deal, lived his life on the road and it was always about the music, Mick Jagger wanted him for the Stones but Rory had a few gigs on in Japan and didn`t want to let his fans down and as Bob Geldof said "Rory wouldn`t have put up with the bollox that is Mick & Keith...
