What a bunch of whiners. a crappy quality truck camper costs close to this. Try the cost of a sprinter. Look at tiny home prices. 78k turnkey is pretty damned reasonable for the quality and innovation of the build. The serious pluses are the Low mileage, level of insulation, electrical and storage.

@jennifer d Ya. I thought the addition of empty Flamin' Hot Cheetos and the like was a good idea too. I used to drive for a living and all kinds of stuff starts showing up...lol... When I was working if I was lucky enough to get a lunch break I could chill but if I wasn't I would do a drive-through Burger King. I'd get one of their double cheeseburgers cuz it was stuck together, sort of like semi-congealed. I could eat it one-handed while I was driving. But then you I know, you got Burger King bags there. Couldn't get fries unless I had a few minutes to park. They're too greasy and it could potentially get on the car seats. The boss wouldn't have liked that, we weren't supposed to eat in the cars. All of us would do the clean up at the gas station while getting the car filled up for the next guy. LOL...Get rid of the evidence.

Love it. A friend of mine did live in an ancient camper van in the 1980s, immaculate on the inside, but it looked a bit ratty on the outside. If you looked at it closely you would notice that the poor mismatched paint job, rust spots coming through, odd rivets holding patches on and even some cobwebs were all a stunning paint job.

@fanfare100 because they want to make money off of everyone. The people are America’s largest commodity. The fact that it is illegal nearly everywhere to live off the grid, is the reason why the government should have sufficient housing for all. Many people are unable to live self sufficiently, due too many issues such as the laws in effect and there not being enough homes or apartments for all who are unable to own.

There is no end to desire. If you can't pay off your credit card bills EVERY MONTH then don't buy. That's the secret to happiness. Credit card interest will destroy your happiness. Great build! There are a couple of things I would have done differently. I would have run a secondary line of the truck's fuel tank instead of using a gas can. A roof-mounted A/C unit would have been ideal for that space. I didn't notice if there was a hot water heater. I am a big fan of the Ford Econoline. I have had 5 of them. I have two right now. The V10 is a fantastic motor. They will go half a million miles if you keep up with some TLC to keep it going. Oil changes and using the right oil is key. Every 5000 miles, or once a year. Use 5W20, and always use super unleaded. I know that sucks right now, but it makes a huge difference in keeping the truck running right. The biggest enemy of these rigs is rust. In most cases, the motors will outlast the body. Keep the undercarriage free of road salt as much as possible. You can go to any truck wash and they will power wash the entire truck down. Never wash the engine bay out. Good luck, and enjoy!

This is true brilliance! The more I see of tiny house living the more I know it’s more me. And with the flexibility to drive to your next choice of destination - the better! I also think about travelling overseas, so a vehicle like this could be parked easily and there for you in your return. For me, rather than a high mortgage to pay for 20+ years - this is freedom.

@TheLamboman640 Many unhoused people have cell phones. I am a director of a nonprofit and I know several homeless individuals who are working 40-hour per week jobs. The housing shortage and high prices are a terrible burden for many, but being homeless does not mean someone is not functional. However, it does make everything more challenging.
