@@zacharyb100 he is like 2 years younger than me, which is irrelevant I guess because he's 60 years younger than someone but still. A lot happens in 2 years so when you see a dude 2 years younger with so much to show for it's pretty crazy.. quite inspiring, since watching I've welded up a small coal forge and built shelfs using brackets welded with simple decorative forged center supports, learned about vehicles and done the maintenance myself, etc. I've caught myself being obsessed with learning the last couple years and I think its strongly due to KZitem influencers like Alec, Matt from demo ranch, wranglerstar, and others.

This is why apprenticeships are invaluable in these lines of work, be it woodwork, forging, carpentry etc. You need to understand what happens when you do something with a tool and the best way is to have someone telling you how and why.

Haha, I was gonna say, you recovered from your adventure in WISDOM pretty quick.... I've never forged anything yet, but the integral I'm working on is throwing me for a loop because it was forged from someone else... I'm use to nice flat stock, haha... Gives me a whole new respect for what you do for sure.... I've got to give it to Jamie too... I'm trying to learn new editing techniques for my videos, it is harder than the knife making... I would say haha, but editing ain't no joke(haha)... Have a great day Alec... It was great having you in the videos Alex... I really enjoyed it, you will be missed... Have a great weekend guys!!! Take it easy...

Dave Erving Evader Knives I don't think Jamie is working there anymore. For a while it was just Alec doing the filming and editing (it was very obvious no one was behind the camera) and if I remember correctly he was looking for someone to do that work for him. I've asked several time what Happened to Jamie but never got an explanation.

I know Alec did it all for a while, but the bigger he got, the more he invested (so it seems) in his production... Someone is behind the camera, watch how it is shot(I only know this because i have been watching hours & hours of videos on better editing and shooting techniques). There are many things that can be done in post edit, but the shots, like going from the floor to Alec's head without a pan in/out isn't one of them... take it easy..(also, Alec is pretty busy, even if he answers a comment, it is rarely more than 1 sentence... think about it, he has 10's of thousands of comments)
@evaderknives
6 жыл бұрын
Also, Alec just got his wisdom teeth pulled, I don't think this video was edited by Jamie(look at the floor, someone was trying to edit and added a bunch of noise) just compare this video to the last one, someone professionally edited that video, but it definitely was shot by someone(meaning not all on tripods)

Great video, Alec and great effort, Alex. These kinds of videos make me appreciate your attitude to your work even greater Alec. And I think this internship thing is really great, because you have so much to teach about blacksmithing, despite your young age. I think that if you manage your attitude, that nothing is perfect, but you sure as hell are going to try to make it despite all the sweat, blood and tears. You show people that hard practice pays off and that's the kind of thing people need in their lives. Doing things that they enjoy doing. Spend time and care with them, because those things will follow them until the day they die. That's a lot of flattering and admiring, but I think you deserve that at least. Keep on working, you both! It's been awesome to watch you work on these pieces. The cutlass you made was amazing.
