If anyone is looks at the ULED U6G and is debating on pulling the trigger, DO IT! For the price it’s simply amazing. One of the best priced quality 4K TVs for entry level, especially if you have an Apple 4K TV box. Because Apples TV supports Dolby vision, a simple setting change to have all content he Dolby and to match frame rate and dynamics, every show, movie, etc won’t need adjusting because it will do it for you. I also use it with my Xbox Series S and although it doesn’t native support 4k, games work and look quite good at 60fps and upscaled.

You need to do a follow up video with a new undamaged tv... It's hard to really tell what the damaged tv is capable of and performance. The "Halo" thing is definitely a deal breaker
@cleighud
3 жыл бұрын
So they walked me through a fix (basically took a microfiber cloth and "massaged" the halo area) and then tapped the center of the screen and it went away! Their support called me back 3 times over a few weeks to make sure all was good. I still get a little light bleeding when turning on/off, but it's working correctly any time there's actual content on screen!

The backlight is blooming. It's perfectly normal for a budget TV such as this. If you want zero blooming you will have to upgrade to the Hisense u8g model from this year with 320 local dimming zones, Or, if you don't care about gaming in 120 hz you can get the Hisense H9G for $400 less which also has excellent blooming control.
@cleighud

Yeah, that the price point I wasn't terribly surprised. BUT the Hisense tech support had a solution that resolved the problem! All the TV needed was a little microfiber massage, funny enough.

@@cleighud really? I have a side business installing TVs. May I ask what they said to do with the microcloth?... I usually use it with a little bit of distilled water to get out fingerprints but not sure what they told you to do for the blooming? I really appreciate a response. Thanks so much!

This TV has 60 dimming zones - that's not backlight blooming. Good grief, just because you unbox and screw legs on, then set a tv on a cabinet or hang it on a wall doesn't qualify you as a Hisense U6G advisor/expert.

I'm a little confused how your U6G has Android TV version 10 (easily can tell by the tabbed home screen). The U6G's latest firmware is Android 9, which doesn't have a tabbed homescreen.

I'm not sure about bluetooth, it's not a feature I utilize. In terms of recommending now... for $400, sure. If a TCL is comparable in price - go that route. I still have some panel issues when the screen is all black (doesn't show up in programming), and the operating system can be laggy. The input menu can take forever to pull up. What is that annoying flickering
@SagwaTheChineseSaimeseCat
2 жыл бұрын
The flickering and what not is usually just because it is being recorded with a camera. Its not directly recorded. So yea and that will happen on anything. You go take your phone and record your tv screen or your monitor and similar things will happen to you. Lines going up and down on the recording where the screen is. Atleast thats what im assuming youre talking about. I did so other flickering near the start of the video and im sure thats just because of it being recorded by a camera and not being recorded internally or by the system itself like a capture card.

The "Native" Refresh Rate of this U6G 2021 model from Hisense is only 60hz. The "Native" Refresh Rate is NOT 120hz. In order to truly be compatible with the newest features from the newest game consoles, the HDTV needs to have a "Native" Refresh Rate of 120hz and have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). It is also nice if the HDTV has HDMI 2.1 and has an eArc channel. Unfortunately, this U6G TV from Hisense does NOT have ANY of those features. This is unforgiveable for a 2021 model TV set.
