Histopathology
Have you ever wondered what happens to the sample of your bladder once it's been removed? Or how the stage of your cancer is determined when the bladder and lymph glands are removed? Are there some terms in your pathology report you wanted to know the meaning of like lymphovascular infiltration or poorly differentiated. Have you been diagnosed with a rare variant such as adenocarcinoma or squamous differentiation. This month's guest is a histopathologist, a medical specialist you will never normally get to meet but very important in making diagnoses along your journey.
Our speaker is a Deputy Director of Histopathology at Douglas Hanly Moir Pathology, with special interests in urogenital (including bladder) and musculoskeletal pathology in particular.
