Recently discovered several vintage 16mm films depicting old Hawaii. The films were originally taken by an unknown photographer for his own personal enjoyment while on his way from San Jose to Austrailia in 1940. We purchased them at a garage sale at the house at an old local orchardist. The films were converted to digital by volunteers from the California Pioneers of Santa Clara County.
This eighth and final installment focuses upon the island of Oahu, especially on the Nu'uanu Pali and Windward Side of the island. Included with this unknown photographer's original film from 1940 were a few additional shots from his more recent trip circa 1952. O'ahu Country Club beginning at 5:28 mark... You can also faintly see the Kawainui Marsh from the Pali at 1:11 and vintage shots of the Ka'elepulu Canal. All Rights Reserved.
