"I'm not great at tablet weaving" then whips out a masterpiece a few seconds later :D. The dress is stunning and certainly not at all like what I imagined viking dress to be. I haven't seen too many representations that don't involve valkyries or mountains of fur. Great job as always Juul!

That yellow is the most delectable colour. I loved this. Both the reimagined costume that turned out so brilliantly, but also the lovely details in the video itself. The mini paper patterns to explain the layout of the garment was a clever little idea. And plenty of Wegie in all his furry magnificence to keep his adoring fans happy. You looked gorgeous and happy with the finished ensemble as well you should be. 😘

Using the scrap silk is also historically accurate. There is some evidence that they used every valuable scrap of fabric as accents; even if they did not have yardage

Gourmet cabbage indeed! You may claim mistakes in your tablet weaving, but that trim looks beautiful to my eyes. The loops are really clever! I can well imagine a lady from the past doing that so she can keep her trim from dress to dress. I love how you and Meme Mom have both done beautiful Snow White outfits that are so very different from each other, and yet each is recognizable. I also really love how broad the range of history is between all of the CosTube outfits I've seen so far (I think I have seen most of the ones that have been shown).

The gold trim on the kaftan really made it! Amazing. And yes, I can’t bear to throw away cabbage. And it’s come in useful enough times that I don’t regret it. I’ve made a lot of masks out of cabbage this past year. I do very much need to go in and organise my fabric and cabbage though. I think I’ll separate our smaller scraps form the larger ones that I might be able to do something with, and then make the small stuff into even smaller coleslaw stuffing. My poor sewing corner is a mess and would greatly benefit from some organisation!

Personally, I love this. Viking (or loosely viking, anyway - not knocking myself out for any real sort of accuracy lol) is my chosen 'era' for historybounding and I'd LOVE to make myself a whole wardrobe of stuff like this to wear daily. (I don't know. It just looks simple-ish to do, comfortable on a lumpy-squishy body shape and fun to do. I think I could go with it without being TOO self-conscious.) Love seeing the 'traditional' gown changed up into this era. Thank you for the demonstration.

I also appretiate the way you attatch the tabletweaving to the smokkr, bc in the findings these are brocaded in gold or silver and not washable with the dress. So now I know how to have it attatched but separatably! Thank you so much ❤️

I love this! Especially the pleating, and smocking. And Wegie footage. And, well, all of it! And sadly, I didn’t have any particular sewing project tonight, because I especially love to do my seam finishing and hemming along with videos of people hand sewing. It feels like a quilting circle or sewing bee. Perhaps I’ll have to rewatch it if I ever get those &#@* pants done that I’ve had the mock-up fabric cut out for for 3 months (in which I have gained more pounds than I care to admit to so that they probably no longer fit).
