I don't know if its really a thing or not but it makes sense sense to me. I find the more licking branches over a scrape/scrape area the better.

Your the man Greg! I would really love to tag along on a scouting trip with you. The way you dissect things is pretty amazing.

Do u ever hang a new licking branch or add scent to scrapes or even make mock scrapes? Great video!

Thanks! I will use preorbital gland and only what licking branches are left as I don't want to draw attention to it by hanging a vine/rope, If I had private I'd try a vine or rope set up.

Not related to this video but I have 2 questions for you. When you hunt beds in the morning on mountain slopes how long before daylight do you think is necessary to be set up? And what about thermals still falling before daylight? I have been finding beds the last 2 months and I’m excited to hunt them in the fall, but I am curious about these 2 things. Thanks.

I set up early like 1+hrs before light, by 1hr I mean completely quiet for 1+hr so I basically arrive 2+ hrs before first light. I do sometimes worry about the falling thermals but it's a risk/gamble I'm willing to take. If the entrance trail is straight into bed I will pull back and down a bit but I find most entrance trails are almost angling into the bed so I'm hunting basically an off wind. It's a gamble and most time you lose but alot if times you learn how deer enter/exit beds.

thank you for the response. Im gonna plan to set up just off and get in early. The beds I find on the steep sides aren’t really an option for evening hunts.
