10:00 Donald Duck in Mathemagic Land is pretty much what got me interested in architecture as a child. Its an outstanding short film.

Enjoyed the video. Just wanted to add my little observation concerning how Greek architecture evolved from primitive wooden structures to the classical Greek stone built structures we see today. Could the Greeks, instead of using one large tree trunk as a column in their earlier wooden structures, have used multiple smaller trunks bundled together to form one big column? This would have been easier than finding the perfectly sized large trunk that they would need (Greece doesn't have a lot of woodland to choose from), and easier to construct with the limited means of the time. The fluted stone columns later on may have been a residual memory and/or homage of this practice (take a bunch of pencils and bundle them together into a column shape; don't they resemble a fluted column?)

I’m not familiar with that telling of “The Cave.” There were others in there when one mustered they courage to leave and saw what was beyond he went back to tell the others and encourage them to follow but they chose to stay in their ignorance “the cave,” out of fear of the unknown.
