His name was Al-Band Qadari and he became famous as Rukn-ud-Din Baybars. The circulation of time brought him to the market of Egypt after being enslaved and sold in different hands. He came here as a slave to the house of a virtuous woman. The lady started calling him Bebars after her late son and adopted him as her son. A brother of the same woman was attached to the court of the Sultan of Egypt who took Ghulam Baybars with him to the court and somehow got the patronage of the Sultan.
