Japan in late 1600’s - there are no battles to fight and the samurai turn to the arts, such as tea ceremony and practicing zen. Martial art schools - ryu-ha, being to emerge where samurai can continue to hone their skills in kenjutsu (sword technique), kyudo (archery) and other related fighting skills.
Professor Takashi Uozumi, is a professor of Japanese martial history and one of Japan’s leading experts on Budo and the life of the swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi. During our interviews, professor Takashi Uozumi was the director of the Budo and Sports Research Institute at the International Budo University in Japan.
