I miss my 800, so many memories with that car. We use to jam pack 6 people inside the cute little car and went out for long tours. It was so much fun!!! 8 years of abuse and love went by and it never made any fuss, most SUVs will fail against an 800 for its ruggedness.

just few days ago i came when i visited my grandaunt in Belgaum, i got to see their 2nd gen Maruti 800 (which is actually our car which we sold to them) and it was such a nostalgic moment. It looked so tiny!!!! I drove it too. That engine sound is just too unique. That's not just a car, it was an Emotion. Also, the bonnet release button was not on the bonnet. That was the secondary press button. The main release was inside the car, on the lower right side of the steering.

When I was born we bought a 2007 maruti 800 AC (I was born in 2006 Sept) we have a kind of tradition that when a kid is born we should get something good In 2009 My father got a new Honda city I never liked that car when it came, because I was attached to the maruti 800 I still own that car it is in fab condition I have a Xylo now . I learnt car on the Xylo but the feel and the feedback that we get from the maruti 800 that is on the cloud 9 The car is in stock condition only we have added a music system and a left side mirror else than these all modification's the car is still running on stock tyres, the cars running is very less the car travels only in mumbai - pune I will never sell this car I love it

Make a video on mahindra showing how they had got the licence from willys to make jeep. Also, from their struggle in 90's to one of most successful indian brand owning 80+ brands including pininfarina, ssangyong and jawa. Also highlight the failed acquisition of brands like jlr and aston martin as mahindra was interested in buying them. And how mahindra became number tractor brand in world defeating john dheere and new holland?! And that's there in roxor's case, and fiat is against it. Please motorbeam, this has to be the most interesting things about our automobile industry. Like if you want one!

I just finshed the book "The Maruti Story" by RC Bhargava. I am not a die hard Maruti fanboy but I think every car guy (or girl) in India should read it. BTW there are few factual mistakes. Government was actually intrested in a tie up with Daihatsu..... but Daihatsu at a very critical moment walked out of the deal giving Suzuki the opportunity to rule Indian car market.
