Here in italy i would say that the distinction between calisthenics and street workout is: 1-sw is aesthetics, strenght on basic exercises and lot of endurance 2-calisthenics is the constant research of new strenght and dominate the impossible, like victorian cross, hefesto, oap, etc. Many gymnastic's moves. Anyway in my opinion is the same sport: bodyweight training; and it,s you that set your goals, they may be strenght, bulking, moves, cutting, endurance etc.. And there there is the freestyle calisthenics that is acrobatic on the bars. WE'VE TO MAKE THESE BEATIFUL WAYS OF TRAINING A REAL SPORT !!!!!

Damned! this is exactly the same situation of parkour and freerunning, people tend to call them separately because they think there are differents disciplines, but they are the same shit. Very informative video man, i get into the calisthenics because of bodyweight excersices i watch in some parkour workouts videos, and i got fascinated by handstand press and muscle ups.

Very good job dude, your video brings so many memories ! As far I'm concerned, street workout and calisthenics will always be the same thing, we all train in parks or streets for free, we use our body weight to do set & reps, or isometric exercices or freestyle, it doesn't matter which one ! we all train in the same way to achieve whatever is important for you.

Great video. I started calisthenics in 2009 after watching Hannibal video, like most people who started in that era. Then we continue watching the videos NY people upload. In that time we all wanted a great body training anywhere without pay a gym membership. Then with the born of street workout and competition, everything went in another direction because they switch from real body weight calisthenics to street gymnastics ( I prefer call it street gymnastics instead of SW). They only wanted to do planche, handstand and trick, but the origin of this training was what the people from Brooklyn teach us years ago. For those who say you don’t name some athlete, is because they weren’t the OG, they only became famous for physic development and his videos.

The things is pull ups stations and the like have existed in pretty much all soviet countries for a long time, my grandpa remembers training at the beach in the 50's and when I visited Estonia there were bodyweight workout stations in a LOT of places. Having said that, there might of been no particular culture to it.

In my opinion Calisthenics is both dynamic and isometric strenght, but the first is more important, because it makes calistenics different rather than the gymnastics,in which there are only straight arm movements. But I HATE when people confuse calisthenics with street workout and do that fucking acrobatic elements like 360 muscle up..calisthenics is PURE STRENGHT,nothing acrobatic

You really think The ruff Riders INVENTED calisthenics? Lol at how you say: This movement was born in America. There have been parallel bars and high bars in school before most of those guys were even born. The fact that someone did a pull-up on video does not make him an inventor. The truth is that the first population of bar stars never evolved because most of them have the tribe mentality. Russian and Ukrainians dominate because they train like gymnasts instead of doing push-ups in the park. You are extremely biased and that video is a joke.
