As someone who just finished the 3 part History of Spain which lasts from like 500bc to today I'm shocked this is even 45 min long lol. adjusting for time this should be like a 1 part 10 min video lol. Obviously joking, I'm sure you did a great job just like all the others. Basically only two things stuck out to me in the other videos Spanish being more widely spoken than English and The Maine sininking being debatable. The 1st is debatable the second really isn't, they didn't do it, nor was it the cause of the war.

Recently archeologists found evidence that the Roanoke colony assimilated with the nearby Native American tribes. There are even accounts of "grey-eyed Natives" in the area, so it's safe to say that they had some European genes.

Croatoan was the name of an Indian tribe who took the settlers to the swamps of N. Carolina when faced with extermination by other tribes. They are now called the Lumbees after the Lumbee River which flows near Pembroke NC. The Lumbees are still struggling to be recognized as an "official" tribe. Most of the surnames are Locklear, Lowery, and Hunt. I lived with them for several years in the early 1980s.

He is totally off on this assertion that our founding fathers intended us to be a Democracy! They were all opposed to Democracy as a successful form of governments and many stated it openly on many occasions. They formed us as a Republic, not a democracy. There is a huge difference. One is a government for the individual, with respect for the rights thereof - the other is MOB rule where 50.01% can override the rights of the other 49.99% who are opposed to it! Democracies have alway failed historically because of this very fact! I mean, just look how close we are now to that very threat. Our country has not been this divided since the civil war...THANK YOU TO OUR BIG-GOVERNMENT PUBLIC INDOCTRINATION CENTERS FOR PUSHING THE "DEMOCRACY" LIE NOW TOO SEVERAL GENERATIONS!

It's the Mainstream Story, with a Personal Political Influence, he's inaccurate on the "Right to bear arms purpose" (it was due to no fulltime military force at the time.) America wasn't lost, natives were the propiertors. Columbus didn't "found America" the Phonecians, Irish Monks, Basque, were all here 1st and then the Vikings, and the west coast natives were from the area that the same who found Hawaii, Asians that went to the Northwest and some few that walked over from Russia. But you won't get these facts in an approved Textbook. The Conservatives that control all information for the Zionist owners won't feed the minds truths. Much research and a College Minor - HISTORY. One side would win the early battles 2.There would be a turning point in the war 3.The other would start winning battles more later on in the war 4.The Final battle would involve the winning side invading and conquering a major place 5.Treaty that would involve the other side losing territory.

"A City upon a hill" is usually credited to John Winthrop. The point is significant because there is a tendency to merge the Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay colonies, in popular history, that may not have existed in practice. They were not politically joined until the Glorious Revolution in England (1689). An interesting topic of study though (oh for a Tardis to go back and check 😀)

In my childhood I used to read tales about Daniel Boone, David Crockett, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn and how they emulated the staunch and strength of the first american colonists and adventurers. I debated on whether or not to post this, because I don't mean to sound at all like a critic against the work you've done on such an informative and amazingly even-handed historical series of videos in this highly charged political environment of today! I also know there is SO much to cover in each series - but what a missed opportunity in this video to recap America's very first overseas conflict as a new nation, in 1801-05 when the fledgling US Navy and Marines under President Thomas Jefferson fought the Barbary Pirates along the North African coast! The Pasha of Tripoli had declared war on the US, and although congress never formally declared war in return, they did authorize military response and off we went!! And we won! (As it happens, the US entering into conflict without fornally declaring war appears to be something we now have down to a fine art..!)

18:45 - Proclamation Line. This is the true impetus for the 1st serious talk of Revolution. At the time of the 1763 Proclamation there were about 200,000 settlers. By 1776 there were over 2 million, a population explosion with increasing pressure for expansion and looking for an excuses to tell England to piss off. You've really done an exceptional job with this video.

26:05 - Map (lower left) - Seemingly forgotten by history, there were actually 15 colonies at the time of the American Revolution. - East Florida and West Florida did not join the other 13 in the revolt. Those Florida Colonies have a jumbled History. Spain ceded Florida to Britain at the end of the Seven Years War in 1763: the true 1st World War (that George Washington inadvertently started at Fort Necessity). This was done in exchange for the return of Cuba and the Philippines that were seized by the British during the war. The British divided the region into 2 new Colonies. After the American Revolution Florida was ceded back to Spain in 1783. Spain then ceded Florida to the US in 1819; in exchange for dropping lawsuits by Americans against Spain totaling about 5 million dollars - and Florida finally became a state in 1845.

I know I'm over a year late, but I'm still gonna say that Columbus knew he'd reached a new continent. Old maps greatly exaggerated the size of Asia and Columbus had stumbled across an undocumented landmass and people, which he wrote about in his letters back to Spain and in journals that were recreated by someone he most likely never met. Given the heading, he thought he was in Asia, because (again) the size was greatly exaggerated and he thought he was either some hundreds of miles from the east coast of China or somewhere south of the mainland. He's strangely misrepresented, especially that "brutal rule," which included dismemberment as punishment for taking people as slaves

Not at all on the coast of China, you remember badly when you omit that colon was a great navigator and knew the seas well and I think he would know how to distinguish an American Indian from a Chinese. I can buy confusion for you with the Indians of India.

Besides that nonsense, Colon could have been wrong, but he had 3 more ships with navigation specialists who routed the way and I think it would be a god's coincidence that all 3 were wrong in the measurement.

This statement is so untruth: “Immediately after Spain’s discovery the other major powers of Europe (Portugal, France and England), realised they need to jump up into the theatre right way”. - England wasn’t a major power of Europe at that time annyway, an it take them more than a century after the discovery to established a successful settlement in the new continent. The same can be said for the French, even though earlier than their English counterparts they didn’t successfully settle in Canada until late 16 century, after having failed in its attempts to colonise around the coast of Florida and others. So yeah, “right way” (the John Cabot voyage mentioned in this video was an isolated expedition with no real attempts in accomplished any form of conquest of land for England). - Thus that statement is only truth for Portugal, even though they were more preoccupied with the actual Indies of the east than in the west hemisphere. Only Portugal and Spain had the naval technology and cartography knowledge required to accomplish that deed in those times. - it’s amazing how they skip all the major expeditions and exploration in North America by the Spanish in the 1500s, along with the oldest towns in what is now USA and just cut up to the 1600s to talk about the English.

I always find it hard to believe that Columbus out of his entire life, would've never known that he was in some 'new' land. Like, he must've known eventually. He was even governor in one of the colonies. There is no way he lived without realizing he landed somewhere new.
